You can never please everybody!
I use this product on a Nikon D700. It fits my right hand well. It's made of breathable material, that's why it's thinner which I personally prefer. Wider at the base to cradle base of the pinky finger better & narrower on top so as not to be obstructive to the thumb & index finger. It comes with an Arca-compatible plate which fits my Wimberley C-12 QR clamp really well. I got it on sale for $33. So it was like buying an Arca plate then getting the strap for free. Here are my thoughts about other buyers' complaints about this strap:1. This is not a CUSTOM product. Meaning...it's not trying to please every individual but rather it's is trying to fit as many people as it can. That's why it's not that expensive. If you want a strap that will be perfect for your hand try designing one or go to a tailor or upholsterer & have them measure your hand & make one just for you. Please let me know how expensive will it be.2. They say it's too small. This product is adjustable 3 ways. The top & bottom straps can be lengthened or shortened. And the plate itself will slide left to right which aids the adjustment of the bottom strap further. So if it doesn't fit your hands then you must have a bad case of edema or you're a giant. Because if you combined the adjustability of the three then you can find the closest fit to your hand...NOT the perfect...but the closest. If it's not custom then it's always a compromise.3. It's not good for Nikon. I have the mid-sized body of a D700 plus my right hand is probably medium but fat. And still I found the closest fit to my hand.4. Bad angle. A hand strap is not a glove that should fit your hand snugly. Rather, it is an added layer of security to prevent you from dropping your camera when you don't prefer having a neck strap. So it's not supposed to be tight that it prevents your thumb & index finger from doing what they're supposed to do like pressing the shutter & moving the sub-command dial. To make you compensate for the supposedly different angle of the Nikon shutter, then loosen the strap a lit bit so your index finger can go up.5. Not enough padding. Really? Do you really need a thick foam on something that pulls sideways when gravity pulls the weight of the camera downwards? Or do you want a thick foam so you can have something to complain about later like "it makes my hand sweat too much coz it's too thick". It's an added security NOT a substitute for a good neck strap or backpack to haul it around.6. Not heavy duty. Really? We should take a look at the stock camera neck strap & compare it to the nylon on the Joby. Suprise-surprise! They're the same width & thickness. Nylons became a famous material for being lightweight & for tensile strength that defies its size. Read about nylons please!

Canon Rebel T3i works great!
Update: I still love it! I have had it over two months now and have used my camera with this in many different scenarios. Long walks, days at the zoo, in preschool classroom, etc. it is extremely comfortable, very secure, and easy to adjust if needed. When I had my film camera, I had a hand grip that I absolutely loved. Fast forward to new technology and I have struggled to find a hand grip that I like. I have finally found it! I was skeptical, the last hand grip I purchased was just two months ago. From the photos I couldn't quite tell how this would work so I was really taking a leap of faith with not much hope. I recieved it and was finally able to see how it functions. The plate sits flat against the bottom and has convenient (and balanced for my camera) placement hole for my tripod connection. This was my major concern and it was immediately alleviated. My second concern was with the battery door, would this get in the way? In all my past hand grips it has covered the door and I had to loosen it to get to the battery. Since this would have to be tightened (and loosened) with an Allen wrench that would be a great inconvenience! Again, my concern was alleviated. When installed, with the plate pushed as far over as possible, the door opens freely. If I had to have one problem (and it's obviously not big enough to take a star away) it's that the strap does mess with the battery door a bit; but it just means pulling it aside a bit. I imagine as I continue to use it, it will become a complete non issue as I will just create habitual movements so really not a problem.Other concerns (and problems with past hand grips, had to do with the material. My hand would sweat, they would be too soft, I wouldn't feel secure, they weren't easily adjustable, and more! I was able to quickly adjust it to my hand with no problem. It feels very secure (I've tested by holding it out in my hand (over cushions of course) and moved it around, it didn't slip in the slightest. I spent an entire day with it while walking around the zoo and my hand didn't sweat and was extremely comfortable.Bottom line, I love it! I will quickly get another one if/when I expand my camera collection to include other bodies. It is worth it.

Pleasantly surprised
Seemed a little pricey for what it is, but functionally worth every penny. I wanted the base plate so I could leave my tripod's quick release plate and my Joby UltraFit Sling Strap on at the same time and Amazon did not sell the base plate separately. However, I have grown to love the hand strap. It makes it easy to hold the camera with one hand without fear of dropping it, and does not make it difficult to operate the shutter release as I had read in some other reviews. In fact, depending on the venue, I actually take the sling strap off and just hand-hold the camera with the hand strap as it provides quicker shooting and better candid shots than when using the sling strap. When walking or hiking, I still prefer the sling, but even then the hand strap can come in handy. The only negative was the price, but like all good tools, if it works well, that is soon forgotten.

This product has changed the way I use my DSLR completely! It makes going from handheld to a sling to a tripod extremely easy. The price is a little high but I think this strap and plate make using a DSLR a lot easier.

Excellent Product
If, like me, you don't like camera straps this is an excellent product. This is the second Joby Hand Strap I have purchased. I've had one on my Nikon D4 for years and wouldn't be without it so I bought another for my D800 (fits and works well with or without battery grip).Fully adjustable and once adjusted gives a comfortable, reassuring solid feel to the grip of the camera which I'm sure minimises my camera shake a great deal on a heavy camera. No more camera straps getting in the way (which is a pet hate of mine) and it fits on my travel tripod with ease so no more mucking about with tripod mounts. Some may say expensive but believe me for the quality its worth it. I have had cheap ones which have broken after little use but the quality of this one blows them out of the water big time and has lasted very well on my D4.

Good quality grip
I bought it for the Canon R6. Initially I thought the plate could not fit, but it does with very tight tolerances. It provides good support and is adjustable in length for different hand sizes. Recommended.
