Yes, it is fine for crochet thread, but much thicker than regular sewing thread.

I like to do baby booties this can work?

If you followed a pattern for sport weight yarn and used this thread, the booties would be very small. Aunt Lydia is considered “fine” or “lace” weight and is more like thread you would use to sew clothing with but heavier. Also, the thread is not very soft until it’s been washed quite a bit. Best crochet thread

Aunt Lydia's is a great thread. I like the fact that it's cotton, not synthetic, however the mercerization process means it's still not great for the environment.
