A Good Read
A love story? Yes ... but also an edge-of-your-seat thriller that sucked me into the story to such an extent that I couldn't put the novel down. My heart was racing as I learned of the Taliban plot to capture the 45 year old American Jew, David Goldman, and his Muslim lover, Atiyah. Would they escape from the growing danger that surrounded them?I also liked Macdonald's attention to detail in creating an environment that seems to engulf the reader.I don't usually read "love stories", but this was recommended by a friend, and since it was only 132 pages long, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did.

The author kills two birds with one stone: educating while enteraining
Infidel: kafir (meaning unbeliever in Arabic) is a fast read that is hard to put down. So many things to like about this book. It is not only a romance novel, but a glance into the minds of Middle Easterners and explains how many in this part of the world are entrapped in their long held customs and the twisting of religion with fear.I learned much about the customs and beliefs in that part of the world while at the same time being entertained with the enthralling romantic story line. As with the author's previous two books, he is a master storyteller. I highly recommend all of Bernard MacDonald's writings.

Wonderful story
I have read couple of Bernie's books and this is by far the best one. I love the characters, the plot and the setting. We can learn a lot from characters in our reading and this one does not disappoint. A quick read, but well worth it.

Has it all
This book has it all. Wonderful and intense character development along with a good story line. The author has spent a great deal of time learning the background and culture of this part of the world and he brings it to you throughout the book. As a result MacDonald weaves a love story through the conflcts of this time and place leaving you wanting more.
