Caster Classics 2-inch Locking Low Profile HD Rubber Wheel Plate Casters - 4-Pack

Bought a very nice [actual] wood cabinet that came with cheap plastic wheels (with a locking-wheel mechanism) that lasted about a year until I leaned on it talking to my wife and one of the wheels just simply broke off. In getting down to take a look I could see stress fractures on 2 of the remaining 3 wheels. I bought these because of the fact that they are 2" low-profile wheels that basically coincides with the original cheap wheels in terms of height. It came with no screws (just the wheels) but fortunately we were able to reuse the original screws used with the original wheels. The levers to lock the wheels are very difficult to engage with our feet so we have to bend over and use our hands - no biggy, just saying. The full height from floor to bottom of cabinet is about 2.5". So far they are working perfectly and are much better quality than the cheap plastic that came with the cabinet.NOTE: I will say that these leave a nasty black scuff mark on my laminate kitchen floor as we do move the cabinet from time to time. A little elbow-grease cleans up the marks. If scuff marks aren't your thing then there are alternates like higher quality plastic or polyurethane wheels.

I purchased 6 sets of these (24 total) casters for some custom built electrical training boards for the electrical program at the college I work at. I teach the construction technology program so we designed and built 6 of these electrical training boards for their program. Each trainer consists of two 6' long by 8' tall walls hinged together to simulate a corner of a house. We then built triangle frames with joists to attach to the top of the walls to keep the walls open at 90 degrees when in use and also simulate ceiling joists. We finished them off with 4 casters at the bottom of each trainer so they can be rolled around the shop and folded together when storing them. These locking casters worked perfectly. When we lock all four of them you can pull wire, install electrical boxes, etc without the trainers rolling across the floor. Very happy with the casters!

I built a dog house which was about 350 lbs. (at least) So due to my poor engineering skills I needed a way to transport the beast more easily, this product was the answer. Granted they do not roll very well on grass (as I'm sure they shouldn't with that much weight on top) once my fiancee and I got the house out of the yard it rolled beautifully on the driveway, sidewalk etc...and now the dog house sits elevated on a brick patio (which was very easy to get onto) and my dogs live a comfortable life above ground in there custom built mobile home. (the piece of wood you see under the wheel is only because my patio is un-level -i didn't build it)

I gave it two stars simply because I would imagine they would hold weight and roll around if I had installed them. The problem I have with these is the lock design. There are two issues probably equally troublesome. First the lever goes too high when in the unlocked position. It gets so close to the mounting plate my foot would have no chance of fitting in to push it down. Second, as people have noted, it was really stiff at first. A quick look explained why. The lock lever is tighted down on the side that the nut that holds the assembly together is on, which is initially very tight. The reason it losens up so quickly is because everytime you cycle the lock the nut gets unscrewed a little bit. I cycled one of them about 10 times and just watched the nut back itself off to a point where the lock no longer worked very well.Conclusion, no room to fit your foot if you want to lock it but that's probably a good thing because if you lock it too much you'll take the thing apart. Anyway, I returned them as soon as I checked them out and picked some up from Lowe's that have the locking lever on the side oppsite the nut for less money, construction seems about comparable.If they worked for you great but didn't cut it for me.

These caster wheels with brake locks have a high weight capacity, and the brak levers work flawlessly. I have used them to set my arcade cabinet a few inches taller, and to allow much easier mobility. They attach really well, solid and easy, and perform great with every use. I am having no problems with these, and love the functionality of them as an accessory. Will be using more for dressers and other furniture I build. The low profile also gives enough room underneath to clean without leaving a ridiculous gap like a lot of similar type wheels do. All in all, this is perfect for DIY projects.

Solid product for the price. This is the 4th time I've order this same set of casters. I put all my power tools on these casters and they work great. They hold a lot of weight and roll nicely on my garage floor and even on my driveway. I would definitely buy these again whenever I get new tools and want them on a mobile base. Great value!!

The wheels lock but will still roll a bit. For my purpose they are fine and not an issue at all. But if you really need a solid lock I would go elsewhere. If you just want a relatively good lock and a decent wheel for the lease amount of money possible this is it. I am happy with my purchase.

I wanted to make plant dollies for the planters on my deck and needed strong, screw on casters. I put one of these on each dolly along with 3 casters that weren't locking. A couple are quite difficult to lock/unlock at first but after a few tries they now seem to be working great. Now I have some beautiful plant dollies that move easily and can still lock in place when I don't want them to move!
