Portland Design Works Mud Shovel 6.5 Fender, Fat Fork Fender

The media could not be loaded. Product broke after 2 short days. Talked to the manufacturer and they sent a new one that same day. I think there might have been a flaw in the matirial. Warranty was easy to work with and friendly. Could maybe use a bit thicker material to prevent it but I know a tenth of a gram makes a big difference to some.

Easy to install, stays in place after install, looks good, is very durable. Does not clog with snow. Well worth the money. Velcro installation design is actually very useful and well thought out.

Fit my Juiced RipCurrent fork just fine, barely touches the down tube which could be trimmed with scissors if needed. Very easy no tools install. It has held up for a couple hundred miles so far, mostly off road, and I have not even needed to readjust it since the install. Don’t expect it to deflect everything thing your front wheel throws up, it is a minimalistic & inexpensive solution, but it does keep muck off the majority of my down tube mounted battery. I dig the typo design as well. Pretty clever design from the Rock Bros!

Using this along with the mud shovel eliminates water and mud from the front. For such lightweight, thin plastic, these work very well. No worries at all about weight.

Great design, high quality material and worked better than expected. Just bought a Specialized Fatboy and it fit perfectly. Rode it twice in snow and mud (~40F) in New Hampshire, once with and once without fenders. What a difference! I also bought and installed the PDW Mud Shovel 6.5 downtube fender and the 6.5 rear mud shove. Bike was nearly spotless. There are cheaper fenders on the market but these fot and worked flawless. These came recommend from a friend plus reviews were vet positive. Wish they offered them with done accent colors (green, red, ....)

This is an easy to install fender with the Velcro. It works very well to limit the mud thrown on me by my front 4+ inch tire. Installation takes only a few minutes. The material is lightweight but strong. I expect it will last several years of hard use before needing replacement.

This fender is great. It is a nice structurally sound piece with the folds and looks great. It worked great on my Bluto Fork with no modifications since the crown in front of the stantions. However, the slots are not cut in the correct place to work on my Manitou Mastadon fork since the crown in behind the stantions on this fat bike fork. It was an easy fix to mark off the locations for the new slots and cut new slots with a razor blade. If I didn't have to cut the slots, this fender would have received 5 star review from me.

Despite the description saying that it works with both fixed and suspension forks, this does not work with a Manitou Mastodon.

The front fender works better on solid forks vs shock forks, but I made it work on my suspension front fork.I can tell you this, the Velcro straps that come with this are super good, you will have to trim them once you get the length figured out and it's unlikely that the will come off...ever.The material is decent as in don't expect a forever product, I think I'll be happy if I get at least 2 seasons out of these front and rear fenders.I like that they are smaller and not as large as some of your big plastic ones.I'm giving them a 7/10 as these are more disposable than long-term IMHO.I do recommend these.
