BU17 Baritone Ukulele, Honey Maple

We recently went out-of-town for a family reunion and my mother-in-law had brought along her Baritone Ukulele (identical to this one) for fun with the grandkids. My son took to it immediately, which was surprising and refreshing! They spent the whole week bonding over this uke and I knew I had to get him one for use in our own home so that they could continue the fun. They traveled to a local music store to see about buying him one and the owner wanted $350 for the same item as we found here on Amazon for a FRACTION of the cost! What's more, the price here on Amazon was even less than my mother-in-law paid for hers. It arrived on my doorstep even before we arrived home from vacation and they have enjoyed playing "together" via Skype ever since. Best purchase all year!

First off the "baritone" was actually a tenor uke. Second this had numerous dead spots and numerous buzzing frets. I would not even consider this a toy, certainly not an instrument. If you want a decoration maybe this would be acceptable, at a distance.I took a gamble on the low cost and good reviews.I lost.Returned this P.O.S. as quickly as possible.If you are considering learning the uke do yourself a favor and get a nicer model.If you are a musician of any caliber this will only upset you, as it's not even "beater" quality.I was thinking maybe I could use it as a beater camping uke when I ordered it, when I recieved it I realized it could only be used as fire wood in this capacity.Move on little dreamer this is NOT a hidden gem.

I did not receive this ukulele, I received an "upgrade". I am not happy with the workmanship of the KAY Guitar Baritone ukulele.

It plays OK and the intonation is close, but the finish quality out of the box was very poor. There were nicks and scrapes in several places, buffing compound on the fingerboard and body, and drips and uneven spots in the clear coat.There are less expensive and better quality instruments available, and I ordered one of those as a gift at Christmas, but was sent the wrong model and a replacement wasn't available in time. The Santa Rosa was the only one that shipped Prime overnight, and I would have returned because of the quality issues if I'd had time. Ultimately my 13yo niece loved it like a one-legged dog despite its flaws, which is all that counts anyway.

This is my first baritone ukulele and I love the sound. Would have given this 5 stars, but I wasn't happy with the action. Lowered the bridge and that helped some, but would like it lower from the factory. Got good reviews from my uke group. They also were impressed with the sound.

Very nice Uke/meets my needs as a 7.5 player on a scale of 10 player.Great fun!!
