Best-kept secret for hardcore tea drinker for ANY types of tea
I was searching for a natural gourd + bombilla for quite some time. But those piles of consistently negative reviews about moldy gourds made me give up the idea. Besides, if one benefit of using a natural gourd (with unglazed inner surface) Is to impart seasoned flavors to the tea, then why not use the world-renowned zisha mug? Anyway, I got just the bombilla instead and wanted to see how I enjoy drinking tea via this method (mouth feel, flavors, etc.). I was surprisingly wowed by the experience. Firstly, now I can enjoy loose tea leaves again without needing to fight off those unruly leaves. This stainless bombilla weighs down leaves without being clogged by them. The 2 lengths suit my different tea glasses conveniently. Moreover, you can position the straw end to various portions of your tongue. If you want the sweet nuance, focus on the tip of your tongue. If you want more tannins; the rear portion, and so on. The experience just can't be compared w/ conventional sipping via the edge of a glass. I'm using this with Chinese tea (Pu Erh), will try soon w/ Yerba Mate. I need no gourd now (natural or synthetic) to enjoy loose tea leaves.

Good quality, simple bombilla at a decent price
These are my first bombillas, and it took me a while to decide which to buy. I am very happy that I choose these. The smaller one is the perfect size for a normal coffee cup, and the longer one is perfect for a slightly taller coffee cup that I use at work. These have a simple stainless steel design, so I don't feel too weird using it at work. I accidently dropped one on a concrete floor without causing any damage to it. The filter end does not come off, but that hasn't been a problem for me.I was afraid that the metal would get too hot, but it only gets hot while actually drinking from it, and if it is too hot to put your lips on, its because the mate is too hot to drink.

Tea leaves don't pass through straw holes, and easy to clean
I used the smaller bombilla straw for a cup of loose-leaf Yerba Mate tea and drank it to the last drop without any leaf finding its way through the holes. Afterwards, all it took to clean the straw was a quick wipe with a paper towel. It's a fun way to sip one's tea (and to pretend one is in sunny South America rather than in chilly Chicago).

Works great
I use these to drink my Crio Bru (ground roasted cocoa beans). They work great. Since I also add a little creamer, I'm careful to wash them right after using them so they're easier to clean (no worries of dried cream not coming out). Not a fan of $5 shipping, but this was still the best price on amazon.

Solid product - Better value
These bombillas are great, the filters work just fine and have yet to clog - also quick to clean, so I was more than pleased with the product for the value.

Love these straws for any loose tea especially my yerba ...
Love these straws for any loose tea especially my yerba mate! Barely any sediment in my straw. It's a nice idea for a stocking stuffer for those tea drinkers.
