Scottish Highlanders in Colonial Georgia: The Recruitment, Emigration, and Settlement at Darien, 1735-1748

Was doing research on the War of Jenkin's Ear. The Darien Scots of Georgia played a significant role in both Oglethorpe's Invasion of Florida as well as his defense of Colonial Georgia. This provides a good background on the Scots and the effects on the communities that they created. Great read.

This is a very well-researched and readable overview of a specific part of Scottish immigration in America. A must for anyone interested in Georgia history.
