Epoch hats Men's Linen Flat Ivy Gatsby Summer Newsboy Hats

I'm really not sure what to make of clothing manufacturers anymore. Why do they think I wish to be an ad for them? Unless I am trying to show off my purchasing power, which is hardly the case here.Anyway, the hat arrived in a bit of a wrinkly state. (I hope the photos display suitably.) I am tossing it in the dryer on low heat with a wet towel, which seems to be working. But these notes: 1. It seems to fit well enough, both size-wise (I usually wear a "large") and on my head in general -- that is, enough head room and the back low enough on my skull to stay on. 2. It says 100% cotton, but it does feel like stiffish plasticy material. We shall see how it wears over time. 3. The little tag on the side is crazy. I do not want to advertise Epoch; and the blasted thing spins around, displaying upside down : yes, I am cool as you can see! Removing it was problematic, having a large button on the back, and after doing so a hole was left in the material where they punched it through. 4. I was able to decipher the verbiage on the paper tag in the hat, and will share that if you wish.Not sure I would buy another one, just because of that Epoch pin.Edit 2019-11-08 : Three further observations : 1. That 100% Cotton makes a difference (it's not linen). I think of linen as being summer-wear, and bought the hat accordingly. (I wear fedoras in the winter.) This hat is hot in the summer, no air circulation at all. That's a negative.2. Someone asked about the bill, if it snapped to the top. (It does.) What I then realized is that there's a plate of sorts inside that keeps the top from pulling back and showing the snap. That happens on a number of similar hats I have, and I think it looks bad. This hat does not pull back. See pix. That's a positive.3. While the pricing says $5 - $19, there's only one hat @ $5, the white Small. The rest are >$12. That strikes me as being slightly deceptive. Similar to the material misinformation.So I'll keep the rating at 3 Stars.

I've worn this hat everyday since it arrived! Really well-made with a nice, soft fabric. The material is very lightweight and comfortable - I was able to wear it all day while working at an open-air bar in florida in mid-June without it bothering me.I was a little worried that it would be too big for me since it is made for men, but the small/medium size fits me nicely and I would say I have an average/normal sized head for a girl.Planning to buy another in a different color. Awesome product!

The circumference of the hat is correct. I wear a medium, and it is listed as a S/M, and that fitment is right on the money. I listed it as "too small" only because the hat isn't deep enough to stay on my head. I doubt it's deep enough to stay on anyone's head. The rear of the cap is way above the "occipital bone," which is the bone-like protrusion in the back of your head. If my head were perfectly flat, it would fit fine. Lol. It's really too bad. It's a nice, light, fairly well-made cap, but it will not stay on my head. If it were a little bit deeper and would stay on my head, it would go from being my least favorite hat, to my most favorite hat." Even the blue paisley patterns on the inside are cool. I have a convertible automobile, and I can forget about driving down the road without it blowing off. If I walk too fast, the hat blows off. It just doesn't grab my head, that's the long and short of it. I have a pretty average head. (Maybe not what is on the inside, but the shape of the outside is normal.) And, here's the rub. It's under $10 bucks, so it isn't worth going through the hassle and expense of sending it back.

What can I say? It's a nice inexpensive hat that I can wear to keep the rain off my head when I don't want to carry an umbrella around. Don't have to worry about wrinkling it or anything. Just shake it out and slap it on your head. I sometimes stuff it in my pocket even. I think it's a nice looking hat, but my wife thinks it makes me look old. She hates everything I like anyway so I tend to ignore it.

I really like the hat, but was a little unhappy when the companies website takes an entire paragraph to tell you about it's american heritage starting with: "Epoch hats company was founded in 1995 in New York from a domestic factory of headwear to a national import and export trading company" but then a two line second paragraph starts with: "All of our products are top quality manufactured in China." Again very happy with the hats (ordered two before I found out above), not sure if I'll order again though.

Hat does not fit as I expected. It's the right size, however, seems to be very flat at top and looks too little. Not rounded and full as pictured. Looks like a flat board on my head. Hate it. Will not be worth sending back though. I will donate it. I will buy my hats in person so I may try on before purchasing. Seems many liked this hat. Unfortunately I did not. Looks more like a golf hat instead of a Gatsby style. The fabric is very flimsy. I did like the paisley lining. I was very disappointed .

Different reviews suggest different versions may be being delivered. Mine "fit" in the sense that it went on my head (a little too snugly, but new, so I figured it could stretch to a nice fit with time). BUT the feel of it was plastic rather than linen (or cotton as some have reported on the labels) and even if THAT softened up, no matter how tightly I pulled it down it still sat on my head with multiple vertical ridges that made it look more like a cartoon character hat. (I don't know what cartoon, I just can't think of another way to convey it). Note- I wear this style backwards and none of the posted pictures show it worn that way. Maybe I got one of the knockoffs some have reported. But all things combined, I returned it before even thinking of taking pics of it. In short, I would look elsewhere.

WATCH OUT:This item was not at all what I hoped for: cheaply made and poor finishing (seams). It is important to note that it has an elastic band in the back, that doesn't show in the photos, and at time of writing was not yet mentioned in the description, despite the seller's promise to do so.I returned the item for a refund, and was promised the description would be updated to be more accurate. I then accidentally ordered the same item, thinking it was a different hat, because guess what: the seller had not only NOT updated the description (which still read "Traditional, classic & vintage style newsboy hat"), and was therefore still misleading; they also UPPED the price by $2.00 in the meantime (first time around it was $16).The seller then proceeded to give me a hard time over getting a full refund, but in the end gave in and fully reimbursed me. Still a very disappointing experience, waste of time and effort, and certainly NOT recommended.

This is usually my favourite line of hats, but this particular product came in as too small.

no me gusto que no era el modelo de la foto, ademas no es lavable en casa solo lavado en seco, que para ser usado en la cabeza....es de lo mas.... incoherente!
