I noticed the jaw opening is one measurement and then there's a pipe cap measurement. i'm not familiar with "pipe cap". could someone please explain?
Would this be a good pair of pliers for removing a stuck round adapter from a kitchen faucet?
What is the difference between the .8 and the 8”..???

Great pair of pliers!
Channel locks, pump pliers, plumbers pliers….whatever you call them, these are great! Knipex is great too but these are more affordable and just as good quality. Irwin makes a wide variety of sizes and jaw type of these. Whatever you need, these are well made and highly functional!

My Go-To Wrench
I have both the 6” and 8” now that fit my smallish hands. The adjustable offset function makes it easy to securely fit around bolts and nuts with angles and makes short work of anything I have to tighten, loosen, or hold firmly. The narrowness of the tool fits well some places where a fatter wrench might be likely to slip. It’s well made so the button locks in place wherever I set it. Can’t do without these wrenches!!

Worth the price.
Good quality tool. Adjustment is fast, simple and holds well. Jaws are hard and hold well. Handle doesn't slip in your hands. A+.

This is a piece of....
....high quality hand tool. Very nicely made. I've bought and used more hand tools than 99% of the population. I've worked with wood, sheet metal, cable tv, electrical devices and steel buildings in my many years of construction work as well as tinkering at home including doing all my own auto repairs. As a teen, I had a clunker and my girlfriend lived on the other side of town. I couldn't afford a mechanic. When yer car is broke and so are you, ya learn real fast how to get it running so you can get to the one that gets your motor running. I bought a book and the tools needed and over the years, the tool collection grows. I built submarines at electric boat and installed the duct work fittings I fabricated in many homes and commercial properties. As a kid, my dad owned a run down building in a slum neighborhood and I grew up every Saturday cleaning and making repairs while my friends played sports. I know my way around a tool ( Of more kind than one ) , and then some. :-)As the years go by, the quality of tools has declined dramatically. Remember when craftsman was made in the USA and had a lifetime guarantee? I still have a big selection of them and wouldn't take a new one if it was given to me free. Not worth the aggravation using a cheap tool. Not worth the aggravation knowing one either, but that's a different commentary.Right now, all my tools are 3 states away in storage and I needed something to attach my new Pur faucet water filter. These worked like a charm for the task. Did the job in under 5 minutes from start to pouring a glass of nice, clean water. These pliers are nice and tight, not sloppy. They have a real nice, easy to use width adjustment. I really like this unexpected feature. So many times with most pliers, when I go to use them after setting them down for a second or just releasing tension, they slip to a wider size and must be readjusted. This can really be a pain, as it takes two hands and so often in mid task, ya don't have two hands to use. The other hand is holding something in place and removing it to adjust a tool can mean a whole lot of work getting everything back in where ya need it, only to have the tool do it again and again.Get my point? If your on your back under-neath a car, trying to get at a difficult to reach thing and a pliers like this is the only tool that will quite reach, ya need it to hold it's setting, right? Just one for instance.I normally would not go on and on about a lousy set of pliers, but these aren't a lousy set.I really didn't want to spend as much as I did on pliers, but they were about the only thing I saw for my particular task, without buying a big set of tools I didn't want, so I bought them. Usually pliers are cheaply made and have a very sloppy mechanism. They wobble side to side. If they have a rubber handle cover, it slips off easily.it's just not a tool companies seem to take seriously.Maybe because it is the kind of tool mostly that's used by non-pros who don't have the proper tool for a job, or even know what the proper tool is.But, sometimes a do everything tool IS the proper tool, especially in emergencies. And it's a genuine vise-grip brand tool, so ya can't go wrong there. This is the kind of tool that if you don't carry a toolbox full of tools in your trunk, carry one of these and a couple others, like standard and Phillips screw drivers in your glove box. This is not for tiny (1/2" or under) or giant sized (2" or larger) diameter items, but for most things you may need pliers for, this is the size you will want. Technically, you could use them for under 1/2 inch wide items, but smaller ones will usually work better, especially in tight places where a larger pair won't get into. This is one of the reasons that make pliers and vise grips so handy. There are times you just can't get the proper tool in there without removing a bunch of other things to get tat it.T hey're not just for people who don't know any better. If you do want a pair of pliers, this is the one. And, I take it you do want pliers, or you wouldn't be reading this, now would you.I hope this review helps at least someone out there.Because, if ya reach just one person, ya say, "Hey, why didn't I reach more?" :-) God bless.

My favorite "Go To" tool in my bag.
I'm a Water Process Technician, and carry a LOT of tools in rolling tool bags. I also have a small Belt tool bag which I keep my essentials - every customer tools I use at every job-site.These little guys are always the first out. They work great, the bite well, and they are my favorite tool (for my line of work).I'm on my 4th set now - not because these break, but because I often forget them at job-sites. Regarding durability - these things are worked hard. I often deal with Caustic or Sulfuric Acids, and these get covered in chemicals. When the job is done, I drop these into a 5 gallon pail of clean water, let them sit while packing up, then take them out and dry with a paper towel. Once back to my work van I spray them with WD40 and put them away. They still. look new.I refuse to buy a different brand. I really am impressed with these.
