Real compression
My job requires sitting down for long periods of time and I had ankle swelling. These do work to control that and they kind of make your legs feel stronger while wearing them. I got size Medium. I wear women's US size 8-1/2, have a 16" calf circumference and 10" circumference ankle. These are a little long in the foot, heel comes a little bit up the back of my heel, but not so much to be bulky there. They're very comfortable in the foot, a good nonobtrusive toe seam. They are a big snug for me in the calf but not terribly so. i think these would be a favorite for me, based on the quality of the fabric, but they're just not exactly a perfect fit for me. They are for my boyfriend though, so I imagine they'd be perfect for someone they fit really well. He has chicken legs, by the way. i am impressed - it is a high quality product.

Anyone who stands for extended periods MUST invest in a good pair (or a couple pairs) of compression socks
These make 12 hour shifts bearable! Anyone who stands for extended periods MUST invest in a good pair (or a couple pairs) of compression socks! I'm a nurse and wish I had found these sooner! When I first started working 12's I would beg my husband to massage my tired/achy feet at the end of the day but since wearing these compression socks, the leg fatigue is completely gone (wish I could say the same for the mental fatigue). I bought a white pair of these over a year ago now and they have held up to bi-weekly washings great (no holes/tears/runs and the compression is just as good as my new ones). I came back and purchased a few more pairs so I could wash less often (lol). I tired a few other brands, one that was more dressy but my foot slid around too much in my shoe and I felt the compression was better with the Vitalsox brand. For reference, I'm 5'6 wear a size 11 shoe and have a fair large calf (I'm a "plus size" lady at pants size 20). I bought the large and while it takes about 45 seconds to pull the sock all the up each calf, the sock is not too tight nor constricting, just a nice firm compression. I highly recommend these !

Feels great!
I'm also a nurse like a lot of the reviewers on here. I recently began to start worrying about what nursing is doing to my body. (Back, leg, knee pain). After talking to another nurse, she was going on and on about the compression stockings and how great they are. So after running my butt off for 3 miles on a 12+ shift (I have the fitbit also) at the end of my shift my legs were having a constant dull ache. So I came home and ordered these. And they are wonderful! I'm 5'8 so there a little long on the top. it comes to the middle of my knee cap so I fold the top down a little and don't even notice. They are very comfortable and thick and cushioned on the bottom. They are a little tight getting on, but that's a compression sock for you, that's what it's suppose to do. My legs feel great at the end of the shift, and after I do my off days work out. I plan on buying a pair in every color!

Best Tough Mudder sock ever!
These were reasonably priced compression socks, based on what I found online, They are well made and very comfortable (although if you are use to putting on regular socks, be prepared for a surprise). I bought these primarily to minimize cramping that occurs while participating in Tough Mudder obstacle course races. I wore them for the first time in Florida and never cramped in my calves, even after the 10 miles in 82 degree heat! The additional padding in the foot and ankle areas are a plus and I like them better than the more expensive Zensah brand, which I also purchased. I wear a size 12 men's shoe and am 6'2" tall. The large size fit well, although they extended above my knee by about an inch, which I rolled over. I would not go a size smaller since they were very comfortable. An added benefit was that gravel and large sand did not get between my skin and sock, as it does in traditional socks. I'm now investigating compression pants to alleviate the cramps in my hamstrings. The next day I did not feel like I was worn out and fatigued, like usually happens. I just wore Zensah brand this morning for a boot camp workout and they helped with circulation, but I like the padding of these Vitalsox better. They wash up great and should last a long time.Review submitted by Dennis H.

Great compression socks but they STINK like chemicals even after washing!
[UPDATE] They no longer stink and I love them! But it took quite a few uses/washings to get rid of the chemical smell.[ORIGINAL REVIEW] These are *really* comfortable and very compressive. I wear them after a hard workout or to bed if I've been on my feet in the kitchen for hours and hours (I love to cook). These are really cute (I bought the pink) and WAAAAY better than those $5 compression socks you can buy at the pharmacy. The reason I took one star off is that they STINK. Even after washing them and hanging them up for weeks they still stink like Formula 409 actually. It's a very specific, chemical smell. I don't like that I can't put them away in my drawer, and I have to be careful not to leave them in a pile of clothes or whatever. I've only washed them once, so maybe that smell will go away after subsequent washes. It's not a deal-breaker in my book, but it has been pretty inconvenient.

They work
I have taken numerous trans-atlantic and trans-pacific flights over the last few years. Some of these flights were in excess of 12 hours and in almost all of them I noticed swelling in the feet. I was doing foot exercises, walking around and doing other things in the flight to avoid the problem. They helped and I could reduce, but not eliminate, the swelling problem. Once I felt asleep for 8 hours, and was in trouble. My feet would not even fit in the shoes that I had taken off before sleeping. I gave this product a try during the last three flights and it absolutely works. I put it on first thing in the flight and took it off after landing. I did walk during the flight, but also took extended (4 hour) nap. The most noticeable part of the experience was there was NO swelling at all. My feet were absolutely normal, with very visible marks of sock elastic.I cautionary note: You need to wear these in the right size and they will be very tight. Make sure you select the size correctly. For me, I wear size men's 9.5 4E shoe and used medium size sock. This was a perfect fit for me. I will highly recommend this product.

Fucia is pink which I didn’t know but I don’t care these socks are great. I wear trail running 5-6 times a week they are awesome. 2 months in so far so good no rips or tears and not stretching, compression is decent not to crazy could be better but I still love these socks and wear them everyday for long trail runs in the deep snow in Canada
