I originally bought this to supplement my string flossing (which I hate), but I was just reading an article on Vital Record (a newsletter by Texas A&M's health science education college) that was discussing whether flossing was necessary and, if so, what method to use. They found water flossing more effective than string flossing, so no more cutting off the circulation in my fingers!As for use, my first caveat is that you need to charge the unit using a USB port. I didn't see that, so I ended up having to charge it on my computer desk for a couple weeks until we remembered to pick up a USB plug adapter. Not really a big deal, but the Amazon page isn't really clear that this is ONLY way to charge the flosser.As for use: 1) You really have to develop a technique with this. Keep your mouth shut just enough to prevent spraying the mirror but open enough that the water drains into the sink. Neither my husband nor I had good technique for our first tries, but our bathroom mirrors needed to be cleaned, anyway. 2) I really should have watched a video demonstrating how to use this before I used it for the first time. 3) When they recommended not to use it on normal mode at first, that was really good advice. Did I take it? Nooo. I prefer to make my gums bleed.

It has operated correctly, and as advertised, and is well-made. Overall I am very pleased and I would buy this again. This item deserves a 5-star rating in all aspects except for one minor drawback. The mode switch is adjacent to the on/off switch, and has the exact same touch, so it is very easy to misplace your finger and press the wrong switch. This results in water squirting onto my shirt or glasses or mirror or wherever until I can re-find the on/off switch. It would be so much easier to use if they had placed the switches further apart and made the on/off a little more pronounced. Luckily, I have trained myself to be conscientious about not letting my finger wander away from the on/off switch, and to make sure it is truly off before removing it from my mouth. So after a couple of months I rarely experience the problem.

I am not a fan of flossing even though I know it’s a necessity. This is my first water flosser and now I have a great addition to my dental routine. I am wearing invisalign now and I need to keep my tooth clean every time after I am done with eating. It is quite powerful and after only a few times using it my teeth feel cleaner and healthier.It was easy to setup and the manual is pretty much straightforward. You can figure out how to install it on your own even without reading the manual. I am happy that this is charged with a USB cord makes it very convenient. The amount of water it holds is perfect for a 1 time flossing. It is easy to refill. Great product.

I was told that one should wait 30 minutes before brushing the teeth after a meal, because a toothbrush may actually do harm when the teeth are still being affected by the acid in the food. This water jet machine is powerful enough to wash away food crumbs from between my teeth, but not as abrasive as a tooth brush, thus I can use it right away after a meal. It feels very refreshing. I'm even considering purchase another unit to use at work, after lunch. I will still floss using traditional dental floss everyday, but this water jet flosser is a great complement to my tooth care routine.

I have only had it for a few days, but it seems to work fine. The delivery, packaging, etc. were great. I didn't realize that the charger wouldn't be the kind you can plug into an electrical outlet. I ran the usb through my laptop, instead, but it charged really quickly. Haven't had it long enough to see how the battery life is, but for the price, it seems fine.

only one complaint....the on-off switch is a hold........it stays on until you turn it off....if you cant find the switch to turn it off you get water-boarded. Switch should b press and hold....of when released

It works just like a larger water pik unit but I have to refill it a couple times during cleanings because it runs out of water before I finish.

It comes with a long cable that definitely helps a lot. Regarding the usage , the manual explains everything well and after 2-3 days of using, it feels really nice. I would suggest starting with the lowest setting and then going to the strong one. The volume is enough for a thorough 1 minute wash, but having a bigger volume would have been great.
