Ok, so it smells like old cheetos. Do not let that throw you off though. I crush the root and make a tea out of it with other herbs. I can't taste the valerian root at all. But it works. I become sleepy and relaxed. I only use it on nights that I am restless. It also can be made into a nice tincture.

This stuff is AMAZING. yes, it smells like old socks or fertilizer, but mixed with chamomile, lavender and mint, you hardly notice.I sleep great after that cup of tea. I drink it about an hour before bed. This has helped me stop taking sleep medicine and melatonin. I sleep soundly, through the night, until morning. Otherwise I'm the type to wake up every few hours at the slightest noise.

This stuff is no nonsense. None of the pleasantly stinky spikenard or jatamansi sweetness here. This stuff is straight up sweaty gym socks buried in the bottom of a high school locker room for a month. And that's how it should be. I've been an herbalist for thirty years, and I'm discriminating. This is right up there with some of the most pungent valerian I've come across. It's definitely not been left in a hot warehouse for a couple years like you'll often have. Price is excellent, considering.

Ok, so what I am about to say has NOTHING to do with the company. The company actually did great with this product. It's about the actual root in itself. Now for those of us who know herbs, we know that Valerian Root smells like Diarrhea, stinky cheese and dirty socks all in one. The smell is horrific! However, the taste is not as bad but can also be masked with othe flavors like chocolate, lemon, other citrus teas and fruits, lavender etc. For people who are new to the root, please don't be discouraged by the smell as the root itself has many beautiful benefits for the body, especially those of us who suffer from anxiety and for those who suffer from insomnia. I will be grinding mine and mixing it in with my bath salt blend as a means to absorb it through my skin while soaking in a bath because I can't see myself drinking it in a tea. This is most certainly REAL Valerian Root! I can tell by the smell. There's nothing like it 😂 Remember people, it's for your health! Whichever way you may choose to take it, JUST TAKE IT! And yes, I will be ordering again

I have tried a few different Amazon sellers, most of them are okay. But this stuff was the highest quality valerian root I have found so far. And it’s resulted in the strongest effects of the root I have felt so far. I grind it in a coffee grinder and steep it for a few minutes before bed, it really helps me relax and get sleepy after a long day at work.Best advise I have for you here: this isn’t always the case for every product, but I have found getting the cheapest bulk valerian root means getting low quality tea for a long time(i.e. a pound for like $25 bucks). Big sad. Its worth it to spend an extra buck on some good stuff.

The media could not be loaded. I was a little worried that he wouldn’t like it but he loved it and rolled around while I brushed him. It smelled really strong I’m not sure I would drink it myself but I’ll try some other time. I mainly got it for the cat.

I think this is great, it really helps on nights that I am too wound up go to sleep. Of course the smell is a lot, but it doesn't taste bad. I think it has a nice, light earthy flavor.
