Excellent product and even better customer service!
These stones are really great! Use water only. No oil. Online instructions are easy to understand, and stropping (not my strength) is well explained. It helps to check out some online videos as well. The 8000-grit stone and the stropping leather really put the finest of edges on my knives. Here's the best part. The 400-grit stone I got has a rough spot on it. A manufacturing defect that keeps it from being a consistent grit across the entire surface. When I wrote to the company, Flair, their decision-maker in China wrote back immediately with an offer to replace the defective stone. Because of the Covid19 virus, he said there might be a slight delay, although it would ultimately ship from a US warehouse location. His office in China was closed and his family was forced to stay home due to the government response. In spite of this hardship, the replacement stone arrived quickly within a week. I found this to be the highest level of customer service, and I am beyond satisfied. Great job, Flair. Thanks!

Good Stones
I ordered these on Friday and received them today (Sunday), but was expecting them on Wednesday, so credit to Amazon for getting them here quick. I wanted to retouch my straight razors since I have not had a smooth shave in 9 years and as soon as they arrived I put them to work. The stones were not flat when they arrived and I found that out the hard way. After starting over half way through and 2 hours later, I was able to get both razors sharp enough to cut the hair and not tug them. Over all great stones, but the manual is written in poor English, the flattening stone I will replace for a better quality one and the hanging leather strop is not the best quality either. I suspect the manual was written by translating it via a translation dictionary, since there are so many bad grammar mistakes (not that I'm perfect). The hanging strop looks like it has suede on one side and something that resembles cardboard on the other side, luckily I already have three other strops so it's no big deal. Finally the flattening stone seemed to work at first, but the more I moved up in grits, the stone became smooth and packed with the finer grits from the later stones. I did not use the green paste with the loose leather strop, because I already have diamond dust in a spray bottle and a modular paddle strop, so I used that instead for the final stropping. Also, the angle guide that comes with the kit does not fit camping/survival knives. I have a BK2 and LMF II and they are too thick for the guide, the thickness of the bk2 knife is 0.25 inches, while the LMF II is slightly thinner. The guide is clearly intended for kitchen knives, so I will have to buy a separate guide for those knives. Over all great stones.

Works great for the value
The stones and the base are high quality and work really well. My kitchen knives could cut through multiple sheets of paper like butter and my straight razor has never given me a closer shave. The polish and leather strip that you use with the polish did not work as well as expected. Not sure if I'm not using the right amount of polish but the instructions weren't super clear. The strap is kind of cheap and delaminating but still works but I might replace it at some point. The blade angling tool did not work super well but holding the blade at the necessary angle by hand is not that hard.Definitely a good entry level sharpening kit that I would recommend if you were trying to save money. If you have the cash, maybe something that comes with a case or one of the tools that hold the knife and blade at a perfect angle would be worth it. I would buy this kit again given the choice though.

Gave new life to my knives
I bought this to sharpen chisels and the blade in my block plane but tested it out on our kitchen knives that had gotten dull (it wasn't until I went to sharpen them that I noticed a good chunk of the blade didn't even have a cutting edge any more!). I followed the instructions in the box and after some time and elbow grease (like, seriously, NO cutting edge, so I had to put a new edge on the blade), the knife was so sharp I could push it through a piece of paper with gentle pressure.I've since gone on to sharpen chisels and plane irons and this kit is fantastic. It has everything you need to get your blades up to a very high level of sharpness. Like, "Seriously, be careful with that blade it's really shar-- I TOLD YOU."

Great Purchase
Item came well packed despite its weight. Everything in the kit was separatelywrapped or boxed. Very professionally presented...ans whats more....it all works superbly well.

Works like a charm
On blades that are reasonably well cared for you don't need to take it through the full ringer of 400, 1k, 3k... etc... can just do the 3k+ stones and the strops , i do the full gambit when needing to rebuild an edge. Blades come out razor sharp - instructions are very clear as well.A friend of mine brought over a set of knives acquired at walmart for 30 bucks that had been put through the dishwasher for a couple years... Was able to get the blades as sharp as my miyabi habanas... (the edge won't last as long, but still nice to know you can get a 30$ knife set as sharp as a $1k set.)

Value for the money
Excellent product. Everything I need to keep my ka-bar top notch in one box. I've only used it once, the most I can say is it's easy to use and keeps those knives razor sharp. Everthing appears to be good quality, but I don't have any experience with wetstones.
