The Fly II

Better film than it deserves to be. This movie had a mountain to climb in following Cronenberg's masterpiece. This flick actually held it's own, it was a good, if slightly predictable, story that made you care about the characters especially Eric Stoltz who really comes across as a victim that you genuinely feel for. The effects/makeup was great even though it sometimes seemed like they were trying way too hard to out-gross the original. Overall a good way to spend an evening and be sure to watch for Goldblum's cameo which by the way was way too short.

Great sequel to Cronenberg’s remake, Chris Walas out does himself in this version of Brundlefly. A must see.

THE FLY II gets it's first blu-ray reissue by Aussie company Viavision entertainmentand it's excellent Blu-ray reissue aswell, worth the shipping cost from Australiathe new 1:85:1 HD transfer by Viavision is very Good but not excellent, i'd rate the picture quality 7-8/10so it's still sharper & clearer than the old dvd version that's for surethe sound quality is a new 5.1 TrueHD mix which still sounds very good- about 6-7/10 for sound qualityEXTRAS- well Viavision made the effort to carry over all the extras, i mean all the extras from the 2 disc Collector's dvdyou get the 2 retrospective Documentaries but only in DR quality not HDplus the usual dvd commentary with Chris walasplus Deleted scenes & alternate ending in DR quality not HD, plus stills Photo Gallery,and both Teaser trailer & original Theatrical trailer, TV spots, radio spotsif this film was reissued on blu-ray by 20th century fox i doubt all the extras would be carried over and that's a fact..being a AUS reissue there's region B on the back cover the Disc is nort region B locked, the Disc actually plays both AB regionsso this new blu-ray reissue is worth buying for sure, 5 stars i give it
