My first book in years and I read it with in a week...
I could not put this book down! I downloaded the iPOD version and still have been re-reading sections. Why 4 stars? All last week I prepped myself up to do the eating plan. I think he calls it the "scary easy" plan. It looked easy but it really isn't easy for me. I first had trouble finding the liquid flaxseed that he wants you to take. I didn't know the pharmacy wouldn't carry it instead you have to get the liquid version from a place like GNC. I do like the times that he spells out to eat, but the food is hard to do with someone that never cooks. If I do cook, I need it simple easy... The shake is easy, lunch is okay but the options for dinner is not for a person like me on the go. I eat lunch and dinner at work(work 12hrs) If I tried to cook brown rice on a Sunday that won't get me to Friday eating the same meal over and over again. I like the idea, but I need something that I can actually make quick at night for the next day. Cooking chicken/fish at home is hard to do in advance; for you cookers that has the time it probably is easy, but yesterday was the first time I used the inside of my oven in months to cook chicken breast. After weighing, cooking and then doing the dishes I was exhusted. An hour plus of time I'd rather use on a treadmil. I totally forgot to make the rice when I was all done (sigh). I'd rather buy perdue selects or a rotisserie chicken and peal off the fat, but that quick option is not an option with the plan. It might give me the same benefit without me being the one that cooks it but it's not following his plan since he wants you to cook the chicken at home. I know to avoid chicken smoothered but there gotta be some healthy alternatives.....:)I know I don't eat totally healthy all the time to why I need this structure, but some quick meals are healthy otherwise I would even be heavier than I am now. Well put it this way; I have been around the same weight for 8 years. If I was eating horrible all the time I should be 80lbs heavier by now. If there was a way to simplify the plan for us folks that don't cook (buying a rotisserie chicken and use the meat for example) then I'd be golden. Working so much bites into so much free time that the little I have I'd rather move around. That said;I read the previous reviews which is why I bought the book. I really enjoyed the way its written, the exercise program and most of the meal plan. I would recommend this as a great buy if you want to learn and lose weight like me-BUT if your on the go the meal plan isn't as super easy as it could be.Hope this helps!

Straightforward Review from Client of Charles D'Angelo
Ok, I am going to give this to you straight. Maybe you are on the fence about purchasing this book. Afterall, there are so many "diet" books that promise miracle weight loss. It is all so frustrating AND confusing. Before I met Charles I tried Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, NutraSystem, Adkins, Southbeach, Cabbage Soup, Mayo Clinic, you name it! Then I found Charles. Before he wrote this book, I paid a healthy sum to have him as my weight coach. I had heard that Charles worked with "celebrity" clients, so I was intrigued, but skeptical. But I was really at the end of myself, borderline diabetes, high blood pressure, and I did good just to get out of bed in the morning. I topped out at 390 pounds and was headed dangerously down a collision course. When I first heard Charles lay out his plan, I was surprised by its simplicity. I wasn't sure I could eat like that and still lose weight. Well, within a couple of weeks I was down close to 23 pounds! Wow, I thought, I can do this! Was it easy? No. But finally, FINALLY, I had a plan that was workable, and successful for me.Fast forward a few months. I moved away and could no longer meet with Charles face to face. I talked with him by phone a few times, and his advise was always dead on. He helped me understand that weight loss is as much a mental issue as a physiological one. You have to make some decisions about how you are going to approach life. But when you do, the World looks different!I recently entered a contest on a site that rewards people for losing weight. Five family members signed up with a goal of losing 16.6% of our body weight in 12 weeks! I was thrilled to find that Charles had written a book. All of those principles that I paid big bucks to find out, and it was all right there in a book. I bought books for all of my teammates. We followed these principals, paying particular attention to the mental aspect of weight loss, but also the exercise and diet plan Charles prescribes. How did we do? My family lost 254 pounds (I lost 65 in 10 weeks)and maxed out 2 weeks early to finish 1st in the contest! There were 650 participants. I was blown away. But I credit Charles' core principles for keeping me and my team on track. I have more to go, but I know I can do it. If you are on the fence, I totally understand. But if I have any regrets, it is not connecting with Charles when I was in my 20's. Don't wait, take control of YOUR life today. I PROMISE you that you won't be disappointed in this book. But make sure you are READY for the life change. This isn't for everyone, and Charles will tell you that. He can provide the road map, but you have to drive to get where you are going. What are you doing still reading reviews? ;-) Get the book so I can say, "I told you so." I wish you the best of health. ---Tim Ashlock, St. Louis, MO

I have lost 41 lbs. since Jan 6, 2022!!!!!
That is 41 lbs. in 21 weeks! Hooray!!!! Additionally, I plan to loose 10-15 lbs. before my birthday next month! My goal for 2022 was: achieve and maintain a weight of 180-185 lbs. which is what my doctor recommends given my height (6 feet), frame, age and existing medical conditions, which many encounter in their senior years and that often diminish the ability to exercise (I used to be the jock of my family!)Reading the book, I realized that after retirement and particularly since the Covid 19 scare started, I used food (including drinks) to relax, relieve tension, forget about worries and suppress boredom. In Charles 'book I have found support to face the need to change drastically my relationship with food, not using it as a "cane" to help me walk limping to the future, but as a "rocket" booster towards a healthier me!What made a difference to me was to commit to Charles D'Angelo structured weight reduction/maintenance program with attainable goals every two weeks. The book has provided me with the motivation and know how to keep going even if I slip up and overindulge. I know now if not in pain, I need to exercise daily at my level of ability .....This is a real change for me! "Think and Grow Thin" made me do exactly that!!!! Richard M. Dawson

Not for me
Never really got into this book. Not my kind of self help book. But I am sure it will suit some people. Very much about the author and not of a personal help to me.

What works read and you will benefit like others I know!
So far I have learned so much and I can only benefit from reading further - this book is life changing for me when so many others have failed. I'm not a reader by any means but I can't put this book down, I bought two copies so I can give one to a family member that can benefit also - and I should have order more copies as this can benefit everyone it teaches you without all these diet fads and pills and expensive junk and believe me when I tell you I have tried them all and had very little success and when I did have success only to gain back when I changed or wondered from their pills or plans at all. this book is a win win for everyone. Check back with me in a few months and see my success. Debbie in Brantford

An interesting take on weight loss
The program is easy to follow. It focuses more on your mindset towards weight loss than the diet itself. It was very informative and really enjoyable.
