Hitch Converter Kit

This did fit my 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Easy install, worked great, a little shorter than I’d like. Does not come with mounting bracket but it was an afterthought for me.

This is a GENUINE OEM part from Toyota so buyer beware that this is intended for a mechanic who has the repair manual for his instructions. THERE ARE NO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. (this would normally force me to lower my rating, but this is an OEM part and they don't typically have instructions). I was able to find a copy of the instructions on the internet, (just Google the part number) This kit also did not contain the proper bracket to mount the plug assembly. (this bracket is included with the OEM hitch kit from Toyota). Otherwise the relay and fuses were easy to install. The converter gets mounted under the dash in the factory mounting location. Not too difficult. I was able to fabricate my own bracket for mounting of the plug. I was able to make a successful installation. Functionality was perfect with no issues. If you have a basic mechanical/electrical aptitude you will install this in about 30 minutes. Pricing was about the same as the Toyota dealer price, but I didn't have to hassle with traveling to the dealership and waiting for the part to arrive a few days later. No regrets, just constructive criticism.... The shipment was prompt as always and packaging was great. Amazon shines once again.

needed to add trailer lights on my 2008 fj cruiser, already had hitch, seen video on youtube 12 min, install, after watching I ordered, this is authentic Toyota parts, I installed quickly and it worked, I now have trailer lights.... very pleased...if you need to wire up trailer lights GET this kit......it looks professionally installed with no wires coming out the back door

Toyota OEM says it all. Thanks Amazon:) Yes there are no instructions, but the install is nottime consuming or complex. The proper installation instructions are easily found online.I’m not DIY on this so I’ll print the instructions as a courtesy to my mechanic. This is all you need to make your tow trailer lights mimic your vehicle. Great quality OEM parts. Why Toyota didn't make trailer light kit standard on the fj cruiser is a mystery but this is the factory kit, plug and play. No need to run wires to battery from rear lights. This kit is designed to work with existing system. Took barely 30 min to install. Many reviews were negative because lack of installation instructions but there are many tutorials online. Too easy. Worth every penny.

2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser. This product was almost too easy to work. I wondered if it was really that simple to do the wiring. Amazing, all the lights, blinkers, stop and tail, everything works great! I highly recommend this product. Other kits have you splicing in to the electrical of the vehicle, not here. They also want you to take apart the whole back is the vehicle. Don’t do it. This is plug and play!

This was very easy to install. The instructions are very bad because they are meant for oem install. The videos and online instructions by others are better. Go slow and you won't have any problems.Everything needed was included. This is a must have for any FJ.

Very good oem factory product. FYI this does not come with instructions only a fuse diagram (which for newer fj cruisers is slightly different from the diagram). This in important because some people might be expecting installation instructions which this will not come with. Took abot 15 minutes to completely install. Take your time and assess your vehicle by laying everything out and locating where to plug the various fuses and connectors in. Very easy common sense installation.
