I absolutely love these! Maui jim does not dissapoint with these. I did a lot of reading before purchasing these. Before I would think it rediculous to spend over $30 on a pair of sunglasses let alone purchase one in the 3 digit range. But, after reading on the internet how amazingly worth every penny maui jim glasses are (wallstreet journal), and playing around with other cheaper polarized sunglasses and finally decided to take the plunge.When I got these in I fell in love, the smooth and simplified neo-aviator style combined with the rootbeer colored frame and lenses gives a really relaxed on the beach feel without being too hipster or beach bum-esque. The frame is made out of a at-first-glance flemsy material but it's actually really strong and won't break easily because of its bendability. The frame also has a "face hugging" characteristic that metal frames do not, so it will not fall off your face if say your are looking over the side of a boat.Now to the main selling point, the lenses, Polarised lens are an amazing technology that block out light waves traveling along a certain axis, for example, light waves that bounce off a horizontal car will be blocked out by the lenses. So that morning glare you see shining off of the bumper to bumper cars during the rush hour traffic on your way to work will no longer be a problem, nor the glare coming off of water surfaces.Unfortunately, polarised technology has its fall backs. Color does not transfer well through the lens, leaving distorted images. But, low and behold maui jim's have found a way around this, honestly I do not understand the science surround this so I will no try to explain it, but it creates a sensation of not wearing anything yet still blocking out the sun and glare, so almost like a perfect world. This combined with the extremely comfortable frame, you will forget you are wearing them.After about two years of having these, they were lost. I looked everywhere, my car my work places I am most of the time and they had escaped me. I tried going without them but I could not so i ordered another pair, just as good as the first. After having the new pair for about 3 days, I found the old pair. -.-Well, I didn't have a need for two pairs so the old pair was gifted to my girlfriend and she absolutely loves them.To sum it up, these are truly exceptional sunglasses, I highly recommend them, they will be the last sunglasses you wear.

I started buying Maui Jim sunglasses when Ray-Ban quality declined after Bausch & Lomb sold them to an Italian fashion brand. I like this Sugar Beach product for two main reasons: Optically, they are excellent for bright or cloudy conditions, with the combination of tint and polarizing adding contrast, especially at distance. And they are vanishingly light, so they stay put and are almost unnoticeable. I sometimes forget I have them on. The lenses are poly-carbonate, but I have never had a problem with scratches, despite several drops to the pavement. So why not five stars? Part of the lightness is the slim plastic frames, and they can fatigue and break; for that reason, this is my second pair. Another thing to note is that polarizing is not for everybody or every situation. Some LCD gauges or instruments (airplane cockpit instruments, fuel pump readouts) will appear opaque if viewed from the wrong angle; I can read my phone when I hold it in portrait mode, but not in landscape. If that sort of thing sounds like too big a problem, non-polarized sunglasses are for you.

Very good lenses, also a little curved so they protect a little from the side too.They are very light, you do not feel when you wear them, they are the best to wear all day long.

In a horrific accident, my first pair of Maui Jim Sugar Beach Rimless glasses -- due to owner negligence -- flew off the top of my head (not face -- it wasn't sunny) and sunk in the blue ocean as I helplessly watched. I got these sunglasses -- plus another pair of Maui Jim's -- for free on a work trip. How could I be so heart broken?!?!The next few weeks were difficult. A chunk of my soul was missing. When walking out of the house, I reached passed my (competitive brand X) and (competitive brand Y) for my Sugar Beaches, only to come up empty handed. I can only imagine what amputees feel like when Phantom body parts itch, but I have to think it's much the same of what I felt.Finally, when I began started thinking clearly, I realized that -- even though it was such a cherished treasure -- Maui Jim may have done the world a favor and manufactured more than one pair. I rushed to my computer like the Tasmanian Devil on fire. To my amazement, they did. And Amazon offered them. And you can guess what happened from there.I find myself wearing them in situations that won't even call for them -- in the shower, while taking a nap, during meditation -- just to make up for lost time. I was blessed to be given the face I have. And my face is just as blessed to have Maui Jim Sugar Beach Rimless sunglasses.

I can't believe they scratched a week after getting them on something in my purse. They also touch my forehead as I wear them leaving them oily at the top. Try them on before buying them somewhere if you can.Additional review about seller: I sent this note--These just snapped in half as I had them on my sun visor clip and knocked it getting in my seat. I was told by sunglasses hut these wouldn't be warrantied unless I bought them from sunglass hut. Since I bought them from you through Amazon, can you advise me on how to get these fixed thru Maui Jim?
