Best type of garden
I loved this thing out of the box. Very easy to set up and I started with four pods of salad greens (which all turned out to be red leaf lettuce) plus thyme, dill and Italian parsley. I also ordered some of the plant your own pods and some seeds, so five days after initial setup I planted a Tiny Tim tomato and a miniature pepper plant. ALL of the pods germinated within the first week, even those that were labeled as taking 2-3 weeks to germinate. The lettuce is growing gang busters, and I got to harvest after only 3 weeks. Now to be sure, this is not enough lettuce to feed a family, but a fresh personal salad or two each week is nice. I just trim a few leaves here and there as they start to get tall and block light to other plants. And then new leaves grow. The dill was maybe a mistake for me: it grows fast and tall, and if you trim it, it just gets bushier. And I don't use that much dill. (But it sure smells nice when I cut it.) I also made a mistake planting the thyme in the back amidst the lettuce: it's a shorter plant and constantly in danger of having its light blocked by the lettuce. But it's doing well, and so is the parsley. (The pods are labeled as to whether plants are tall or short; I just didn't notice this at first when I planted.) The tomato plant is about 5 inches high after 4 weeks; the pepper similar. I have no idea how long it will take them to produce something edible. But you know what? I don't care. The whole thing looks so lush and I so enjoy watching green things grow ... and no weeding! And no bugs! Right after setup I ordered another one for my daughter, who planted only herbs. And recently I ordered still another one of these for myself, this time to plant flowers and perhaps expand my lettuce supply. Now there are a couple of things to know: The first is that the LED lights are VERY bright. You need a room for this where no one is disturbed by the bright light because they have to be on 11-14 hours a day. Fortunately, you can set the schedule to work best for you: mine goes off at 10 pm. The second is that Aerogarden doesn't tell you up front that they are going to recommend removing all the water and replacing it sometime before the third or 4th feeding. And for this you need a siphon. Aerogarden sells one (and you can get it here on Amazon) but there are other choices as well. Just keep this in mind and have one on hand before your first month is up. Otherwise, I'm just delighted with this device. I noticed there's a version for kids that has windows in the base so they can see the roots growing. I might have to consider that for a birthday present because my granddaughter keeps taking the lid off to look in and see all the roots.

WORKS GREAT & HAS BEEN FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY... EVEN OUR FUR BABIES!!
**** WOW!! **** THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST INSIDE HYDROPONIC GROWING SYSTEM-- EVER!! IT'S --TRULY-- THE ULTIMATE!! AND, JUST WOW!!-- IT REALLY IS SO VERY EASY- FOR ME AND THE KIDS!! WE'VE TRIED MANY OTHERS... AND JUST RECENTLY, ANOTHER BRAND THAT WAS ON SALE DURING THE 2 AWESOME AMAZON SALES DAYS!! BUT, THE OTHER BRAND WAS IMMEDIATELY RETURNED. IT'S TRUE THAT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THIS AEROGARDEN ELITE, IS TRULY ONE OF THE BEST BUYS I'VE EVER MADE. IT'S REALLY IMPRESSED ME, EMENSELY!! I WAS TFULY SHOCKED ON HOW EASY IT WAS TO SET UP AND GET STARTED. I'M NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED... BUT, IT WAS REALLY SO SIMPLE & SO EASY FOR ME TO DO, ALONE! I IMPRESSED THE HUBBY. **** THE AEROGARDEN ELITE, IS THE ONE I BOUGHT... AND, I AM SOOO GLAD THAT I DID! IT'S SOO WELL MADE, IT LOOKS GTEAT- GOES WITH EVERYTHING, NO MATTER WHICH ROOM I PUT IT IN. IT ACTUALLY TELLS YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO DO, AND WHEN!! THERE'S NO GUESSING, NO FORGETTING ANYTHING, ETC.. - IT'S JUST SO EASY!! *** I FOUND OUT THE BASE PLATFORM HAS BEEN INCREADED AND IS NOW SO BIG & HAS 9 PLANTING AREAS... THAT IT'S SO STURDY AND STABLE ENOUGH TO SUPPORT GROWING VEGETABLES (even ones that'll require small trellises, before they grow up to 2 feet tall & you can prune them, constantly, to make them THICKER, not just tall and look "limby".... they'll be REALLY bushy and BEAUTIFUL!! - which helps them stay healthier and become much THICKER and heartier, before you replant them)- SO THEY'RE READY FOR HARVEST, FOR SALADS, ETC... THAT ARE FRESH CUT... AND ANY HERBS, PEPPERS, ETC.! I CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR 2nd PLANTING IT SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY INDOOR HYDROPONIC GROWING SYSTEM THAT CAN ACTUALLY USE OTHER PRODUCTS, LIKE MIRACLE GROW & HAS KITS, SO YOU CAN PLANT ANYTHING YOU WANT TO. WE STARTED BY GROWING FRESH CATGRASS AND FRESH CATNIP... WHICH ALL SPROUTED SO FAST- LIKE JUST DAYS!! IT'S BEEN SOOO MUCH FUN WATCHING THE CATS "MUNCH" AWAY, AS THEY CONTINUE TO GROW... AND, THEY HAVEN'T HURT THE PLANTS, AT ALL! THE KIDS ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT THEY PLANTED A GARDEN JUST FOR OUR FUR BABIES AND WATCHING THEM REALLY "LOVE" EATING THEIR OWN GARDEN-- MAKES THEM SO HAPPY & THEY HAVE SO MUCH FUN! -- ESPECIALLY KNOWING THAT THEY PLANTED THEM. IT'S GIVEN OUR KIDS A LOT OF JOY AND A MAJOR SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT! WE DIDN'T EXPECT THIS TO BE A "LEARNING EXPERIENCE", AT ALL. BUT, IT HAS BECOME A MAJOR ONE. THE BEST PART IS THAT OUR KIDS DON'T EVEN REALIZE THAT THEY'RE LEARNING ABOUT ANYTHING, AT ALL. THEY'RE ACTUALLY LEARNING A WHOLE LOT; ABOUT PLANTING, GROWING, TAKING CARE OF THEIR PETS. SOON, THEY WILL BE HARVESTING ON THEIR OWN, AFTER WE PLANT OUR OWN GARDEN- FOR THE FAMILY. I'LL TEACH THEM HOW TO "PRUNE" THE YOUNGLING PLANTS, TO MAKE THE PLANTS AS THICK AND LUSH AS POSSIBLE, BEFORE IT'S TIME FOR US TO BE ABLE TO START TAKING FRESH CUTTINGS DIRECTLY FROM THE PLANTS, TO PUT IN OUR OWN RECIPES!! THE FRESHER THE INGREDIENTS, THE BETTER THE FOOD WILL TASTE... AND, THAT'S JUST GUARANTEED BY NATURE, ITSELF!! I CAN HARDLY WAIT FOR THE TIME FOR THAT TO START HAPPENING!! THEY TRULY --LOVE-- SHOWING OUR FUR BABIES HOW MUCH THEY'RE LOVED & BEING ABLE TO GROW FOOD THAT THEY'RE ACTUALLY NEEDING MORE OF, IN THEIR DIET & THAT'S ACTUALLY SO GOOD FOR THEM-- AND NEEDED. "INSIDE CATS" DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO GRASS FIBER GROWING OUTSIDE... AND, THE WRONG KIND OF GRASS, WILL GET THEM SICK OR REALLY UPSET THEIR STOMACHS AND MAKE THEM THROW UP EVERYWHERE. OUTSIDE, THEY EAT GRASS- TO HELP SETTLE THEIR TUMMIES OR THEY HAVE A NATURAL "CRAVING" FOR GRASS AND FIBER. GROWING THE RIGHT CAT GRASS ASSURES US THAT THEY'LL BE GETTING THE COMPLETE NUTRITION THEY NEED & FIBER, AND WE KNOW THAT THIS GRASS WON'T MAKE THEM SICK.... --AND, WON'T HAVE ANY PESTICIDES OR CHEMICALS ON IT, FROM BEING OUTSIDE, IN THE YARDS. WE LOVE OUR AEROGARDEN ELITE!! -- I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE DECIDE TO BUY IT... CAUSE IT'S DEFINITELY BEEN WORTH IT AND A LOT OF FUN FOR THE FAMILY!!

I love my bounty elite
I love my new AeroGarden Bounty Elite and the idea of having fresh garden grown vegetables all year. This system was so simple to set up and it even came with my first 9 Herb pods. After I snapped a few pieces together I was ready to plug in my AeroGarden. Once plugged in all I had to do was follow the on screen prompts such as setting the date and time and what kind of vegetable I was going to grow. After I filled it with water the pods were ready to be set into the AreoGarden. It was that easy. The garden does the rest until my plants start to grow. There is even a vacation mode that can be set in case I am away from my garden for a period of time. When vacation mode is set the system uses less light time, shortening the amount of water used. Making this a truly low maintenance garden. Once my garden has run its course, I can press the quick plant button and it will re start my system so that I can plant new pods. This garden has it all! There are so many functions on the touch screen base. My favorite is the Garden Tips. In case I need a little reminder the tips will help me. There is even a WiFi mode that I was able to connect to my cell phone. After I downloaded the AeroGarden App and connected the garden to my phone I was able to do everything right from my cell phone. The directions are easy to follow and there is even a help section if needed. This system is incredibly easy to operate and does everything for you. If you are looking to have fresh Herbs, Flowers or Vegetables year round then get the AeroGarden Bounty Elite. I’m currently growing a salsa garden in mine. Jalapeño, tomatoes, cilantro. In one of my other gardens I did bell peppers and had 2 come out of one pod so I transplanted one into a grow anything pod and now I have a 2nd bell pepper growing as well.

Best Unit Yet!
I have had Aerogardens for the past several years now and have been nothing but pleased. I currently own over a dozen units and the NEW Aerogarden Bounty Elite is beautiful and better then I could have imagined. The new 2019 model has a sleek and slimmer design with no lost options. Let me try to break it all down as best I can. Design: The design of this unit has a more modern look and feel. Light/Hood: The Light hood is thinner. The adjustment rod that raises the lights are simple. Just turn the knob to loosen, pull the light up or push it down and then tighten. The Bounty Elite is a 50W LED hood which is great. You can also now at any time dim the lights if needed to the wattage you want and then raise it back as well. Sunrise/Sunset Mode: You can now tell your unit to slowly raise the wattage of the lights in the morning and at night. I have mine set to take 60 minutes from the lowest setting to the 50 watts. This is a great feature. Vacation Mode: This mode is on previous units. I have not used this feature as of yet. Display: The display is totally touch screen and easy to use. Deck: The desk of the unit is wonderful! There are no tiny openings for the water to come up through and cause calcium marks as it is all one piece. The water fill hole is larger and no fear of over spill. Bowl and Pump: The bowl of the unit has a special holder for the pump and where the water flows out of into the deck. Roots will have a hard time to get into the deck with this design. The pump is in a special housing and can be removed for easy cleaning. And with the new pump housing the roots are more contained. Trellis: The new trellis system is easy to install. There are four rods that you place into the deck itself and then had the oval plant holder piece. No more trying to connect the old one to the light rod. Wi-Fi: No issues getting it installed and using. This is a superior unit and I love it!

Easy to use, but you should know about some issues
We have a heavily shaded yard, making it impossible to grow the herbs we like outdoors. I found Aerogarden and made the purchase. The product is very easy to setup, taking only a few minutes to unbox, place the seed pods, fill with water, and plug it in. There are some things buyers should know: (1) the instructions are correct but incomplete. For example, I received 9 seed pods with the Aerogarden; enough to fill each of the holes in the garden. After I set it up, I learned that some combinations of plants don't work well because some seeds sprout faster than others, choking out the others. I haven't had my Aerogarden long enough for that to happen, but I'm guessing it will. (2) The garden is designed to connect to wifi and there is a mobile app. Skip it. The system will work without it. The setup process is a nightmare. The mobile app only works in landscape mode on iPhones, which makes account setup nearly impossible. Connecting to wifi was easy the first time, but the garden soon disconnected and, after an hour fooling with it, I gave up. My tech skills are far above average, so I anticipate others will have similar problems with mobile app and wifi setup. I contacted the company about this. They confirmed the garden will work fine without wifi connectivity or the mobile app. (3) This should not be a surprise, but the light is very bright. If you live in a house with a designer kitchen, this garden will definitely disrupt the looks of the kitchen. I'm likely to move mine to get basement at some point. (4) The design of the seed pods is good. Very simple. They're comprised of a plastic basket with a cylindrical sponge that holds the seeds. When you're ready for more seeds, you may buy new seed pods from Aerogarden. They also offer the baskets and sponges in a kit so you may use seeds from other sources. You can reuse the baskets if desired. (5) The water pump only operates about an hour a day. Unless I'm standing next to the unit while it's pumping, I never notice the sound of the pump. (6) The lights are on for about 15-16 hours per day. Once you enter the on/off times, it controls the lights every day from that point forward. I have mine running from 1am to 4pm. For us, this is the best choice because we don't have that distracting light while we're in the kitchen/dining room in the evening. Overall, I'm happy with the Aerogarden. I'm looking forward to seeing the amount of herbs this thing can produce. I'll be happy if it can deliver all of the herbs we use for cooking at home.

Grow a garden in your kitchen?! That's cool!
I purchased this as I thought it would be fun to have around the kitchen for both something to look at and actually to add to our meals. Overall, I am super impressed with this Aerogarden. I am both fascinated by how easy it can be to grow a small garden anywhere. Also, I learned a bit about plants and how awesome they can be grown. Green Lettuce is pretty fun to add to the garden. It grows super fast, and you could be eating a pretty decent salad within a couple of weeks from starting the garden. Another fun plant to grow is Basil. Basil grew like a weed within a month. When these plants start to take off, they will grow super fast in no time to add to your dishes. We had to buy the salad green pod kit separately, but it was worth it. The LCD is pretty helpful as you will get new tips every day on what you could be doing to your garden to make it better or some fun plant facts. It is also beneficial to know the water level and to help you understand when is the best time to add some water to the tank. The light hood can get a little warm to the touch but nothing too hot. The light does extend up for much taller plants like tomatoes or peppers. I haven't grown tomatoes or peppers myself, but it is an excellent option in the future. The aerogarden hardly uses any power, and I haven't noticed any price increase from my power bill with buying it. The price is slightly steep, but I think it is worth it. I probably would start with the smaller 6-pod Aerogarden or the Aerogarden 360 one, but the LCD is a nice add-on with the wifi integration. Overall, I think this is a fun and fabulous gift, especially for the holiday, and would surprise someone with how cool they can be over time. I would recommend it if the price isn't too crazy; otherwise, the smaller Aerogarden is just as fun and cool!

So far works great! Easy set up.
So this is my 3rd Aerogarden model i have a 24plus and a harvest. Really like the look and the functionality of the bounty elite. Connects to the app unlike alot of reviews ive seen, but ive had no issues. Certain models dont connect so you gotta do you reaserch and read the description fully to make sure you have one that connects ( different year different function.) I made this mistake but i was able to change my order before it was shipped. Some are younger models same look but way different when it comes to what they do. Also just because the pictures show to put all your pods in which is fine if your growing herbs and lettuces, but dont do it with tomatoes and peppers you will have over crowded plants it will be hard to maintain and youll have a mess and possible plant loss unless you transplant to a garden at an early stage because they need space to grow. Currently i have 3 peppers in mine and even then i think that maybe pushing it because they are taller varieties. Also cover your holes or you will get alge. Which is not horrble but its gross and messy. The caps dont come with the unit only if you buy them seperate or with a pepper kit. Also the lights i have set to go off by midnight and come on at 9am. To prevent the light from being so bright i bought a seethrough mesh material to go over the unit i left pics below was about 5 bucks at walmart. Another option is to turn the light down but i dont like to do that unless the plant requires me to. Now the things i love bout it. Its so much quieter than my other models. The pump is attached to the lid so when you go to clean its like wiping out a bowl so much easier than having to tie cords up and not get them wet super simple. The display is nice as well so far my sensors read perfectly and the app works fine there are somany features from vacation mode to personalizing settings for pumps. There is even a sunrise sunset mode and you can change the time to gradually increase/decrease the light when they come on so its like they are outside. Overall very happy with this model for being so compact it does alot. Its on the expensive side but with all it does simplicity and all it worth it to have the ease of mind.

Love it, except the wifi and capacity
Cons- The wifi is hit or miss. Must have a 2.4 gHz system or it wont attempt to connect. Even with that and correctly putting in passwords and such, it can still refuse to connect or disconnect randomly. Very much a pain in the butt when not working, convenient when it decides to work. This is advertised a 9 pod system and indeed it sends 9 pods, but for the health of your plants unless you keep them very small, they will quickly overgrow each other which is bad. Can realistically hold 4-6 mature plants depending on what you are growing. Dont forget to trim roots regularly if you want the pump to survive. Pros - grows plants really fast. I love this for my year round herb source. Extremely adjustable from lights to water pump. Even water phobic plants, like rosemary, seem to grow well this way. Have 2 of these. The seed starter is terrible, which is unfortunate, but the standard pump and deck work well. Does not come with plugs for unused ports, so be sure to get covers or cover with tape/ foil to prevent algae. Support when one of the systems was great. Would recommend taking a picture of the bottom of your unit base before filling it. This is where the model number and serial number are should you need to get a replacement part or replacement pod. Not having these numbers on hand can be annoying if you have other plants in.
