Fun for Adults Too!
So much fun! I am an adult woman and was afraid the tail might be too small for me, but the JL size fit fine, was even a little roomy in the waist. I'm very curvy and chose the size based on my hip measurement, as I was afraid I'd burst the seams if I went by waist size.Swimming with this tail is a great core workout, and doesn't feel like exercise at all.I got the tail and followed the instructions for putting the tape on (it really helps to have the monofin inside the tail). I laid the tail on my kitchen table, I folded the tape in half so I had a fold line as a guide, and only peeled back half of the tape backing at a time. I found it easier to adhere the tape to the back part of the fin first, then remove the rest of the backing to adhere the othe half of the tape to the front of the tail. I then used the blow dryer on it as indicated in the instructions and left the recommended extra tape along the edges and let it cure overnight. The only issue I had (nothing to do with the tail itself) is that the adult (Nunui) monofin was way too big for me - I wear a size 3-1/2 and my feet do not make it past the monofin logo in the photo, so my feet did not even come close to that third strap(though it was fine for my friend who wears a women's size 10-11 shoe) so the fin would come off my feet while swimming even with the two other straps secured, and I found it difficult to splash the fin up out of the water (the photo showing the splashing fin is of my friend wearing the tail).I bought another monofin in the child size (Keiki), and my feet again didn't make it past the logo, and only by shoving my feet in as far as I possibly could was I able to reach the (only) strap (barely) on my toes, so the fin still felt very floppy, but was not as heavy and was more maneuverable and I could lift it out of the water. Even though the fin was much smaller, the tail still fit okay over it and made the monofin less floppy; there was just extra fabric hanging over, which I can probably fix with some Velcro to close the bottom opening. My friend and I had a blast taking turns using the tail and fin, and it is easy enough to out on in the water (I sat on the pool stairs to put it on, as once you are wearing it you pretty much have to pogo hop to get anywhere if you aren't swimming). The monofin is also very fun to use on its own and the foot section is neoprene, comes up over your ankles like a short sock, and is very comfortable.I have swum everyday (weather permitting) with with the whole tail or with the fin alone; such a blast to use!

Almost perfect
I've been mermaiding for years. I usually use Fin Fun, and I love everything about them except their weak fin. I went with Suntails this time due to their sea monster tail, which is super close to how I imagine 'my real tail' to be. It looks absolutely amazing in the water, I just LOVE it. No words to describe how it felt to have the tail that says ME, after all these years. Very pleased with the monofin. Very easy to use and similar to Fin Fun in design except it is SO MUCH FASTER!!!! It took me a bit to get used to the straps they have. I'm not a huge fan of the mesh in the pockets, and I've read other people have cut it out so I may do that. Very comfortable and fast fin.The sizing was difficult at first. Their chart confuses me some, because it appears to be junior sizing. However the women's/misses pant sizes don't line up with the measurements, at least as I know it. I'm about 127 lbs, 5'7 and wear a size 4 pants (I think, not totally sure since sizing everywhere is different). I emailed Suntails first and they suggested a large, but after seeing another review here where a mer bigger than me got a large I went with a medium. I don't regret it, it fits perfectly and the large/thick waistband is so wonderful and stays up perfectly.I can also note a big difference in fabric between Suntail and Fin Fun. This fabric feels smoother and thicker, and oh man it dries SO FAST! I was excited when I got home from the pool that it wasn't still soaked and it dried overnight, versus Fin Fun which can take sometimes a day to dry if left on a shower rod like I usually do.A couple of things I didn't like, was the first time getting the monofin in the tail was SO HARD!! I had to stretch the fluke so much I was afraid I would rip the fabric. It was a very tight fit, but it loosened after a few times of getting it in and out. The tail protectors also take a bit of practice to keep on the tips while you are getting the tail on, or else they fall off and you have to start again. It also gaps more at the bottom than I'm used to with my Fin Fun, but I found in my pics and vids of me swimming, it can't be seen. I did end up getting one blister from where the strap laid across my toes, after about 3 hours of swimming. I have women's size 11 feet, so my feet come just past the second strap. I'll have to play around with it more. Finally, the tail protector stickers. Maybe I didn't apply them right. They came off not long after I got into the pool. I'm an adult tho, I know not to abuse my tail and I take very good care of my tails, so it isn't too big of a deal. I think if Suntails is able to perfect the tail tip protectors like Fin Fun has, I'd switch over to them for my tails entirely. The beautiful skin and the fast monofin make them a very good competitor for a company I've used since I started mermaiding years ago.

My daughter LOVE IT!
Their measurement guide is right on! My daughter LOVE IT!!! FYI if you are giving as a gift. The stickers to protect the fun need 2 hours to cure before swimming. (I gave mine to my daughter at her birthday pool party). I went ahead and let her swim and it seems fine but I have new stickers on the way just in case! My daughter is 43lbs 4 feet tall and her waist is 21 inches. The tail fits perfectly! (M). The suit came a few days later. (They were out of stock). The bottoms are a bit big as I expected but they still stay on! (Also size M).

Easy for 8 year old to swim in
Easy for 8 year old to swim in. Fit exactly as advertised. Lost the black neoprene corner protectors and tape the cut tips of socks on instead. Comes with plastic stick on protectors that don't last very long, but don't really need to be replaced.

Mermaid fun!
PERFECT fun for my 7 year old little mermaid! My daughter got this for Christmas and was over the moon! She has used it about a dozen times since, and although I don't recommend it unless you child is a very strong swimmer (or willing to wear a float) she has quickly learned the skills needed to use this item safely.Required skills:- very comfortable with face in water- able to swim with dolphin kick both above and below water- able to turn onto back and floatThis product also has a "quick release" sock for safety. My daughter can easily kick herself out of her tail and pull the whole thing off in just a few seconds if she gets too tired.
