A Bargain Price For The Restaurant Listings and Recipes
This kindlebook of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives; An All American Road Trip…With Recipes (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Book 1) by Guy Fieri and Ann Volkwein include among the following; A1 Diner,Blue Moon Café,recipe for Cap’n Crunch French Toast from the Blue Moon Cafe, Chap’s Pit Beef restaurant, a recipe for the #52 Sub Sandwich, Tick Tock Diner restaurant, recipe for Veal Meatloaf from the Tick Tock Diner, Eveready Diner, recipe for lobster quesadillas from Eveready Diner, recipe for three-cheese macaroni and cheese from Eveready Diner, MoGridder’s restaurant, recipe for beef brisket from MoGridder’s and much more. Too little of everything
I have been a DDD fan from the beginning. I have seen every episode at least once, some thrice. I have wanted a book forever, and have long thought about what I wanted it to be. So maybe that is why I am disappointed so much.I was hoping for a travel guide that I could use to seek out DDD favorites. But this guide does not cover everyplace he has been, just some of them. And it lacks a good index by state and city for the locations he does cover. You can flip thru the pages by part of the country, but it is tedious and not as easy as it could be. A national map with numbered locations would have been good too. The fact that the pictures of the people and locations are black and white keeps it from becoming exciting or make me want to visit. A black and white picture of a building sign is just a waste of book space. These places have character, and you get NONE of it in the pictures. The whole book feels boring and drab from the minute you pick it up.The book tries to be part travel guide, part cookbook, and part show diary. IMHO, it fails at all three. It has a recipe from most of the selected locations, but no pictures of the food. That may be just as well, because black and white pictures of food would take the book to a new level of dullness. The narratives for each location are uninspired, and sound like they were written by a newly-graduated ghost writer rather than the inimitable Guy. Most of it reads more boringly than a small-town restaurant review. As a show diary, it lacks any funny stories or off-camera tidbits that might have brought some humor and interest to an otherwise exceedingly dull book.Maybe i will feel better about this book once I make a few recipes. But I suspect that this one is going to end up on eBay or Amazon Used Books in a few weeks.

Typos? Really??
Book is ok… Guy’s banter doesn’t translate as well in print, but it made me want to visit a few of the restaurants, or at least watch the show where they were featured. I got this on my Kindle Unlimited to see if I wanted to buy it. However, I couldn’t get past all the typos in the book. Unprofessional, and unnecessary — even a simple spell-check program would have corrected some of them. (Such as “Flanortown” instead of Flavortown — his big catchphrase!!). Can’t believe Guy let this go to print as is.

A great reference for the adventurous!
I chose the title because you have to have the adventurous spirit in you. With Guy's book you can either visit the places he does, or try some of the recipes he provides. I fall into the latter category. I have three volumes of his--one in electrons and two in paper. The Book(s) is divided in regions, e.g., South, Midwest, etc--very handy, and the you get the name of the restaurant (d,d,or d), location, history, and recipes! very well done. Being a DIY cook, I really enjoy reading the recipes and, since I'm retired, and my wife still works full time, surprising her with one of the suppers I have come up with based what I have found in Guy's books. Not only is his TV Show fun, but the books are also!

Great book
Got my book the other day and it was beautiful and in shrink-wrap. Loved looking at all the recipes and can't wait to start trying some of them.

Wish They Wrote More
I wish they kept writing these books that chronicled the show. They are a great resource for people that like to travel to the DDD destinations.

Terrible. More his story than actual food. No photos of foods.
Do NOT purchase any Diner, Drive-ins and Dives series books. I bought 3 and was sorely dissapointed with all of them. They are more "his story" and the stories of the people involved in all the restaurants, than actual recipes. Even though there ARE lots of recipes, but NONE of them have any photos. You cannot make exotic food if you dont know what it LOOKS LIKE!?!! The printing feels they used an ancient mimeograph machine to run the copies. While the TV programme is worth it - these books are certainly a waste of space. Sad. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Great
if you have ever seen the TV series on food network then this is for you. The discriptions and recipies of each place is cool. Guys a real entertainer and see if you can see the same show on the TV as you see in the book. Well worth the cost and well worth a USA visit and track them all down, as would be a blast!

Waste of money
My husband has wanted this for ages. When I finally got it for him he was so disappointed. It's more about the places he's visited rather than recipes. Not what he expected.

Not a glossy cookbook
Not the glossy cookbook I was hoping for. Still a good read with some recipes. Newspaper type paper
