Took these Bocce Balls out to the desert and seriously abused them. They are battery operated and flash instead of being constantly on, I presume to save battery life. We did not see a way to easily replace the battery, so that may be a problem in the future. One of the answered questions on the site say you can take a screw out and replace the battery. Would need a very small screw driver to do so. We chucked these around with abandon, bouncing them off of rocks with no regard. They all made it through the night and were still flashing. Honestly amazed. One of them did not want to turn off, but we just had to bend back a little bit of a metal piece to fix it. Again, we straight up abused these. "Normal" use on sand or grass would be ideal. They are a very hard plastic casing, and ours now do have some nicks thanks to the rocks.

I read so many reviews on so many products and I ended up here. There were still questionable reviews so I wanted to add my positive experience. It came as advertised. They are as heavy as a regular bacci set. Once you remove the paper blocking the battery contacts, a flat head screw driver will help you turn them all on and off. They are very bright and blink about every 3 seconds. We had an awesome 5th of July party with these things. I have left a few that were powered off in the yard when it rained and they still worked. 1 or 2 out of the box had iffy battery contacts but if you give them a good smack they work normal. I would recommend. Super fun for backyard summer games. PS they are pretty bright. Im surprised the neighbors didnt comment on 8 brightly flashing neon balls at 11 pm.

I've been looking for a good hard plastic bocce set to play for camping. We used to have the glass resin ones but that broke after hitting a rock. These balls do the job and for the most part, the lighting is cool. It is a little hard to turn the lights on. We used a quarter but the slit use to turn the lights on started to strip. One ball we couldn't turn off so it just burnt out. For us, the lights were just a bonus. We needed something sturdy enough to huck around.

When we first got this set, I didn’t know if I would like the blinking, but it does make for an exciting game after dark when your ball disappears, and then shows up in a place you never imagined. The batteries are replaceable, just take out the plugs and use a tiny screwdriver to remove the one screw by the lightbulb and pull the center out. It takes LR1130 batteries. The kids would revolt if we went camping without this set!

I would have returned these as soon as I got home from the trip I bought them for, but we never used them because they were useless and I forgot them in flagstaff. This bocce set has small LED lights that are not replaceable glued to batteries that are also not replaceable with a small piece of metal that when pushed onto the battery completes the connection and causes the light to come on. These leads to two problems. One is that the balls are not made well enough that that connection is easily made. Some you have to screw in really tightly and some are hard to turn off and one of the ones I got would not turn on at all. The other problem is if you wanted to play in the daytime with out the balls flashing you have to take the LEDs/batteries either partly or all the way out and end up with bocce balls that are irregular. My last complaint about this set is that they flash they don't glow which is annoying. Playaboule makes a slightly better one, but I am still looking for a really good set that you can play with during the day or at night.

I received the balls, pulled the plastic tabs and two didn't light up. I sent the company and email stating such and never heard back from them. I ordered batteries online; it took over 15 minutes to get the old batteries out with a tiny screwdriver and try to put the three batteries back in. It was very difficult however with no thanks to the company the two non-working balls did work. Plus, unfortunately for me I didn't read the picture of the product and as it turns out they only blink. Really, what is so hard about making them stay on, it's annoying as heck, they look like big round green, red, yellow and blue fireflies flashing around the field.

These are so much fun and were a hit each time I unveiled them. The glowing orbs resemble mini moons. It is great to have the option of playing lawn/beach games after dark. Feel like the real deal, but glow so well. There are 4 colors to play teams or head to head. And I've played 1 v. 2 also. Happy with this purchase. It makes an old man game fun for all ages.

We have so much fun playing this game. The game works great and the fact that it lights up is so cool. The only thing I wish I knew before buying is that the balls' lights flash/blink instead of staying lite the whole time. I wish there was two choices for that.

Played last night. We had a good laugh.. great hit out camping too. I’m actually going to order a second set, that’s how much we use them.

This set is not cheap but seems to be well made and the balls give a nice glow in the dark

Bought these for the long weekend. They were the hit of the weekend. After reading some other reviews I was worried they wouldn't light up or some other manufacturer issue but everything works great! The only problem we had was using the measuring string as it's only about 1.5 feet long (we didn't shoot them that close!!). Strongly recommend to anyone, and not sure the other set valued at $245 would do any better than this set, but we are very happy with them.

These are awesome. Some of the lights didnt work properly and I had to tape them to get them to stay on when using them, one light barely worked at all. The plastic also scuffs really easily if they end up going off the grass. but otherwise, a very fun set to have for night games. UPDATE: The ball that had a finicky light eventually stopped working completely. After replacing the batteries, I found it was the bulb that was defective. I have taken the plug apart and soldered it together, (which is also a great trick if you want to get rid of the flashing feature), and now I just need to order a 5mm 2pin LED to solder in. Another update: Another light has stopped working and it isnt an issue w/ the batteries... if you're going to buy these balls I'd almost recommend buying from the company and getting the newer plugs (described below) FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS: The company that makes this set, playaboule, sells replacement plugs/parts. You can upgrade from the flash only setting by buying a set of V3 plugs which allow you to turn the light on/off from outside button, and can set it to flashing or static glow. They are only sold as an entire set, but it is a good option for those who don't like the flashing or don't like the screw in/out on/off feature. They also sell single replacement balls if you happen to lose yours at the bottom of a pond.
