Good product
This is a good product for its price. It is accurate, it's lightweight and it for sure. Does the job I've had it for over a year now? And it is my go to I do fiber. Optics, so I have to have an accurate version of this, and this one has been an insanely good one. It's durable and can take a beating

Great Tool, useful on the field
I work at a fiber optic internet company, it’s been very useful and it has all my needs on the field. We get optimeters for testing light, they take forever to turn on and there is no VFL on our models. It’s so convenient having instant access to check light levels that you can store in your pocket all the time. The VFL is handy and bright, only downside is after 5-10 minutes it automatically turns off. I wish if the VFL is on then it won’t turn off but it’s not a big deal. I highly recommend calibrating to your fiber optic wavelength and light levels, the out of box experience is good with about 3 DB off but it’s great for a general estimate when it’s not very important. After calibration even after a couple months it’s been accurate and works very well. The battery life is pretty good, it uses 2 AAA batteries and it lasts me about a month or bit more. I love the Ethernet tester that is built onto the removable slot on the bottom. On the field I also work with CAT 6 and it’s great having it on the tool, I never have to carry around a separate Ethernet tester or ever run to my truck to find it. It’s helped me out in situations I never expected. The only major downside I had is the screen. When I first bought it, after about a month half of the screen was not working and was affecting my readings. I exchanged it for a new one and been very careful with the screen and making sure it won’t get dropped or damaged. It’s been a couple months and it’s been working just as it’s new. Overall, I love this tool and it will be a must need for me when I’m on the field.

Accuyand and handy.
Useful tool, light level is accurate, it almost as it shows in the +$3000 meter, the difference is -/+0.2 dbm. I found it so handy, the battery life is fine as +AA batteries can be changed easily . unfortunately I can’t replace it with my main meter cuz i have to upload my tests using my company provided meter. VFL is bery useful. The ethernet tester works fine. The only thing about it that i would change was the flashing red light, because some time i need the vfl few decond on and few seconds off to have enough time to scope.

Works well but signal number are not perfect but you get a good idea what the signal is

Freaking Fantastic Little Light Meter
This thing is absolutely fantastic. Despite not being designed to read 1577 nm light, it still reads it quite accurately when set to 1550. I sometimes have only a1-2 db variance compared to a $150 light meter I have on hand. The visual fault locator is WONDERFULLY bright and works fantastic on APC and UPC connectors. I can easily determine where issues are, and it is frankly brighter than a $100 VFL I have. Fantastic features that are way better than a $28 package has any right to include. It feels sturdy, with a fairly hard rubber shell that I feel could easily handle drops onto concrete, unlike the $150 light meter I have. I use this more often than I use the other one now.

I actually love this thing
Light meter and visual fault locator in one package. That’s very handy and it’s in a compact form. It’s less than half the size of my company supplied meter. Plus I don’t have to carry two tools when I can carry one. The large backlit screen is also great for my aging eyes. Easy to read. It comes with a single led as a “flashlight” but that’s a really gimmicky feature. I’d never use it for anything, but points for trying. I didn’t buy it for that so no big deal. It also comes with a little lanyard. I should’ve left it off because I keep my meter in a tool pouch. All it does is catch on my needle nose pliers. It’s pretty annoying. The auto shut off feature is nice if you are using the light meter. But not so great if you need if for VFL. The way I use these tools it almost never a factor. I think you can toggle it off, but it’s something to be away of if you need to check continuity of a long fiber run.

Works great as a light meter, nice and responsive, turns on quickly, and remembers the last used wavelength. The VFL is decently bright, great for locating fiber in an MDU or quickly testing a drop, not so great for finding small breaks in invisilight or tracing a damaged feed from a off-site distribution. The "RJ45" test feature is completely absent however, there is no jack on the bottom, just an empty spot behind the cover, and there are no LEDS on the face above the buttons like in the pictures. Instead of saying "Optical power Meter" it has a logo for Youysi. Not a huge deal breaker as I have other test sets for RJ45/Cat5e/etc, and it's decent for what it actually does, but only 3 stars for 1/3 of the functions completely missing. If you want a very nice compact power meter, with a serviceable VFL, its a great buy.
