Absolutely Satisfied...!
As a litely fond of knives collector, this is now my new fav-o-rite, cutting implement indeed. Also this is my first style of knife with the finger ring, as well my first necklace knife. The portable is conveniently sweet. The sharpness is utilitarily excellent. The material is suitably made and quite secure. The fit is excellent and pleasing overall..Since the knife is the kilimanjaro brand, I had to represent with my African medallion and afix my new knife to a chain/necklace more suitable for such a well crafted item.I seen a few reviews where there were a few light complaints about the push button, release mechanism. That it was somewhat impeding, making the drawing of the knife, lack efficiency.Someone even mentioned that they shave the button down a bit for an easier release. I don't have that issue at all, especially with the necklace chain that I affixed it to.Mine has a rather quick and efficient draw, that is perfect for self defense indeed. Although the finger ring is intended for the index finger, you can reverse the grip onto the pinky, for an awesomely awkward, downward fist motion:Edit: this knife is/has a lefthanded draw, of which I am. I saw a comment stating that this individual had an inconvenient time drawing the knife. I assume that whomever it was, may be right handed. For me, I couldn't draw this knife faster. It's so sweet...I think that I may have to acquire another one so that my other hand won't get jealous...Enjoy Your New (not a) Toy ~

Nice for the price but there are better "neck knife" options
I've been on a quest to find the perfect "neck knife" and... I am still looking. I got this on a lightning deal at a great price and it was worth the price paid. I have some expensive knives but this cheapo may end up ranking as a favorite. I really like the design with finger hole at the tang and subtle but somewhat "gripable" rubber grip, I am not a fan of paracord handle blades. The steel is 8Cr13MoV which is indeed steel (contrary to other reviews). From what I've read it is a cheap Chinese steel equivalent to the popular Japanese AUS8 (which is used in many popular brand knives). The following is credited to the knifeuser blog. Search 8Cr13MoV and you should find the knifeuser blog review. Author unknown.8cr13mov chemical composition• 0.8% of Carbon: It improves hardness and wear/corrosion resistance, but a high amount of it decreases strength.• 14.5% of Chromium: For tensile strength and Edge retention, and enhances corrosion resistance and wear resistance.• 0.3% of Molybdenum: Increase Machinability and strength.• 0.2% Nickel: Improves toughness.• 1% of Manganese: Increases hardness and brittleness.• 1% Silicon: Improves Strength.• 0.04% of Phosphorus: Increases strength.• 0.04% of Sulfur: Increases machinability.• 0.25% of Vanadium: Improves wear resistance and hardenability. As you can see, the 8Cr13Mov has more than 12% of Chromium in it, which makes it stainless steel, plus of that, it has a mixture of Carbon, Manganese, and Silicon, which offers hardness and strength to the steel. How strong is 8Cr13MoV steel? The Rockwell hardness of 8Cr13Mov is a maximum of 62HRC.8Cr13Mov steel propertiesAccording to the chemical composition and the HRC of the steel, the 8Cr13Mov Steel has the following features:Edge Retention: being budget steel it offers great hardness for it price and offers a great Edge Retention that may be comparable with mid-range Steel.Corrosion Resistance: Being stainless steel with more than 14% of Chromium in it, 8Cr13Mov steel offers a great Corrosion Resistance.Wear Resistance: 8Cr13Mov offers a great Wear resistance, due to the mixture of Chromium and Vanadium in it.Sharpness: if used as a knife, while being hard steel, it’s easy to sharpen.Welding: Due to the high Carbon and Chromium in this Steel, it has a poor Weldability.Toughness: it’s has a decent toughness, but for its price, it’s good.Is 8Cr13MoV good knife steel? It’s a low-end budget steel, that offers Decent Edge retention, corrosion resistance, hardness and wear resistance, for a very low price, so the answer is Yes compared to other budget steel knives, you can use it as an EDC knife, kitchen knife or hunting knife, but be prepared to take good care of it.

A cool little tool you won't have to look for!
This is my first Kilimanjaro so I can't compare it to any other kind. But this knife is great. The chain is stainless steel or something that doesn't irritate my neck which is generally sensitive to almost any kind of metal including pure silver, but I can actually sleep with this around my neck and wear it all day as well with no bother. It has a great click locking holster and quick release button on either side which can't be accidentally opened or come lose no matter what you are doing there is also no rattle, so it's a very safe and functional knife which is very sharp I might add. I'm not sure of how long the sharpness durability will be, but I don't intend to use it to open or cut ever little thing it's more for emergency and self defense and it's kind of a necklace in it's own way just one you wear under your shirt like all necklaces should be imo, but that's just my own weird thing of many. Anyhow I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a outdoor person or just wants to add a new knife to there collection as even if one may not actually wear it as intended it's still a great tactical knife that you'd often use with it off the neck and the chain is more like a steel lanyard as just to have it with you at all times or when needed most. Opening letters and cutting paper or those small little things that you can cut while wearing it is very nice though.

Great cheap insurance
Great little neck knife, easy to sharpen, you just have to see it for what it is. Your not gonna baton wood or bushcraft with it. It's a last resort self defence tool. In that aspect it excels. I have much more expensive knives but this one is something you can depend on and cheap enough your not worried about losing it. I bought 3 of them for family members that don't feel comfortable conceal carrying firearms. They are easy to hide, comfortable and take a scary sharp edge very easy.

Great knife - Garbage Sheath
Came sharp straight out of the box. Goal was to use this as a neck knife but the sheath is absolute garbage. The hard inflexible plastic makes it near impossible to draw one handed. Practiced drawing with it the first day and the retention button broke.
