Works I suppose... not sure who to fault.
Works as intended albeit with grainy resolution and about a second or so response lag with my Galaxy Note 3. Took me a while to get it up and running and to play nice with my phone but it's no problem once you get your phone to detect that it can output to the second display (which was tricky). I'm not sure if I can fault the cable for that though as they indicate on the package that the performance varies with different phone models and manufacturers. My phone wouldn't work with it until I figured out the pin layout of the little adapter it came with is different from the cable itself. The adapter cable must be used with newer phones I assume so don't forget to put it between the cable and your phone (it's not just a break away cable). The latency makes it very difficult to play games on. If you're using a controller paired to your phone, I'd recommend you skip this item because it will most likely be too laggy. The phone display has perfect timing but the output to the tv is way too slow (his latency). The display output also looks really gritty and grainy when output to my 1080P lg tv, which is odd because my phone has a full HD resolution and it's really probably the highest end phone on the market right now. It works and sends audio as well. If you're going to use it with games don't bother it's probably too slow. Chromecast or some other similar thing would probably be better if you're just trying to use an app like hulu or Netflix or something but if it's something like an app without much support and you just want to you put up some non interactive video or audio then this will work but it will be pretty grainy.

Galaxy Owners: Use extra provided Cable - push in safe and Hard
Great reviews - And the SKIVA does work - I was afraid to push the extra cable into my Note 2 because it felt like it was going to break. It fits like a glove just like your charging cable would. Those that have been unable to get it to work - I had the same issue of it not functioning. I finally pushed much harder than i would normally, and the cable went further into my Note 2.Other issue with audio - NOT AN ISSUE - If other functions are working in background, like any MESSAGING/TEXT, that sound will trump the audio going out - with no sound at in some cases. There are specific hdmi audio settings for the NOTE2 -I dont work for skiva or samsung. But, I was about to be one of those that blasted the product. There were just too many good reviews. I knew it had to be end-user error. In my case, Strong large Man - afraid to break connector on expensive phone.Better to be Safe than sorry!!!!! Happy Trails - Hope this Helps

Works fine on a Galaxy S3 -- except Netflix has to fix a bug
[Edited 1/9/2014 to clarify based on Boolites911's comment]If you're using a Verizon S3 (also known as an SCH-I535) make sure you:1) Use the enclosed short adapter cable (plug it to the main cable).2) Make sure to plug the usb part of the cable to the power adapter your phone came with.3) If it's still not displaying, reboot the phone.Note that some of the other S3 models may not need the adapter. When playing Netflix the movies show up in 16:9 format on the phone but display on television in 4:3 (looking squished). After some reading on the web this has been a problem for many people using any sort of MHL adapter but as of December 2013 there seemed to be no fix. Also not that the subtitles would show up on the phone, but not on the TV.Note that these are all Netflix problems, not the fault of this adapter.

Great for mirroring android smartphone
The Skiva MHL Micro USB to male HDMI cable is a great product to use to mirror and charge your android smartphone onto your TV. I mainly use this product to stream Netflix from my HTC One M8 because I don't have a smart TV.The picture quality is nice and clear and displays the Full 1080P. I did not notice any video distortions while streaming Netflix from it. The sound is also transferred from the phone into the TV.IMO, I find this product a good alternative to the smart app plug-ins like Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick for your non-smart TV. And, it can play almost everything from your phone!

Great Product for my Galaxy Note II
I had some bad luck at the start of this product search I first went down to my local radio shack where the sales rep acted like he knew what I needed only to purchase it come home and find that it was not compatible I started looking further into it and at first it seemed like I was going to have to go through Samsung for this product for double the cost of this after reviewing others feedback on here I decided to give it a shot and it worked out great . The equipment is super easy to use its a quality product I am able to watch my movies now that I dowloaded through the day or play games its really a nice product the cables are long enough to enable a proper set up .I give this product 5 starts for quality and performance and 5 for the seller I received product in nice safe bubble packaging and within 4 days super awesome .

The HDMI cable works...some times
However, the charger part of the cable does not function properly at ALL. I have a Galaxy Note 8 and its charger functions properly as I use it every other day to charge my tablet.Unfortunately, when I connect the tablet to the TV using this item, it does not charge the tablet sometimes (I have to unplug the USB part or the charger from the outlet a few times and jiggle it or do some voodoo just to make it work) and other times, it charges the tablet REALLY REALLY SLOWLY. The tablet's battery drains faster than it can charge. It's annoying that I have to make sure that the battery is near full to even consider using it. A nice idea... but wish it would work properly as advertised.

Prefer Google Chromcast
I prefer Google Chromecast because you can still take phone calls or search web while using and it doesn't interrupt your viewing. This will show every thing that you are doing on your phone while its connected. You may prefer that but if you're watching a movie or on youtube while using, and a call comes in...... Also Google Chromecast simpler and easier to hook up. I don't like that I can't charge my phone while using. Otherwise it works fine with my Note 3. If Google Chrome continues to add more apps that are compatible there is no need to buy this.
