Definitely not silk
This is clearly not silk. It appears to be some sort of cheap rayon. I waited too long to take it out of the packaging so I couldn't return it but it was an unfortuante waste of money.The other reviewers are right, it is smooth so if that's all you're looking for, you can find the same fabric for a much lower price.The color is, unfortunately, very lovely.

Gorgeous fabric!
Lovely, soft, flowing silk. I used to make a scarf/wrap to wear with a formal dress. Color is beautiful. May be a bit thin for a dress - 16MM - at least for me, but beautiful for wrap, possibly a robe or nightgown. I would suggest a higher momme for a dress, unless using as an overlay to a liner.
