Don't judge the sound too soon - these speakers need running in!
Hmm. First impressions were: radio sounds fantastic, CD sounds fantastic, Bluetooth is a bit lacking. Now: Having run in the speakers over a few weeks, the Bluetooth sound is now full and clear, up to the standards of the CD and radio output.I had relegated this stereo to second choice in my household (in the spare room) as I had problems with the Bluetooth sound at first. However, it is now rightfully back in the living room, as the Bluetooth sound has improved with time. Also, it plays CDs faultlessly, even if they are slightly scratched, which my Philips M4505/12 is not able to.Quite a large footprint for a micro system, but it is worth accomodating the slightly extra size, for the extra power and clarity which this system offers. The volume has more headroom than other systems, going up to 40 or 50 (I haven't reached the full extent yet!) as opposed to 30 on most HiFis.Overall, very good value, stylish to look at, the remote control takes a little bit of getting used to, but is sturdy and reliable. Great sound reproduction across the formats.

Cannot read 32gb USB when full, but O what SUPERB SOUND!!!
I bought this system over 1 year ago (sale price of £230) and it truly has revitalised my listening pleasure. Provided that the installation instructions are followed correctly and ensuring that the speakers are properly run in over a week or two, you will find you have a powerful little amplifier and very responsive speaker system (both high and low end) on which listening to anything from ABBA or Black Sabbath to Classical & Opera is an unalloyed delight, with no reservations at this price/compact size whatsoever, and out-performing many a system costing much, much more. The sound reproduction is beautifully clear and concise, perfectly suited to High-Resolution audio, and this I have found to be true whether using the radio, disc player or USBs. I had actually looked specifically for a Panasonic system (while comparing to what else was available) because they will always pack a punch in components (where it counts!) while keeping frivolous design or faddish tweaks to a minimum... which is perfectly borne out here by this solidly built, sleek and stylish "traditional" looking set-up which reproduces very true sound. The only drawback for me was finding that stuffing a 32gb USB with files at 320 kbps will overload the onboard system's capability to read all the files, thus making it impossible to select the "hidden" ones. You may decide to download the software from Panasonic to install on your PC and play from your music files thereon, but I have not, as yet, done so myself. The operation of the remote may prove fiddly on first acquaintance and it seems that scrolling/selecting the next file intended for use, while playback is ongoing, is not an option. To further improve the sound quality you have the option to buy slightly thicker (and longer!) cables. And do invest in a good set of WIRED headphones - I always opt for Sennheiser as they have always proven to work extremely well with Panasonic audio equipment. A quick online search this morning has yielded a comparative review published 12.02.2022, Best DAB Radio Hi-Fi Compact Stereo Systems (with handy links to Amazon), listing this at #12, although not all of those higher placed systems had a headphone socket or even speakers included.

Looks basic but powerful little Hi-Fi
I ordered this on behalf of my mum.We wanted a Hi-Fi that she could easily operate and not be bogged down by multiple features and controls. It looks a little plain/ basic but packs a punch in the sound department with 120 watts total volume. The sound is quite rich too.Preset graphic equaliser is limited but you can adjust the base and treble manually.Couldn't pick up many DAB stations so mum is sticking to FM radio (having to hang up the wire aerial which isn't a great look in living room).Connects to Bluetooth (phone) well. Listened to a YouTube music video and the sound quality was very good. Same quality playing CDs.Haven't tested other connections yet.Remote control range is limited. You need to be facing the Hi-Fi directly for it to respond. You can't open the CD tray via remote either.A good deal when it was on sale for £229.

Good Sound and Controls
Previouisly, we bought a cheap Grundig mini player because it had a cassette player, which we do use very occasionally, and while the CD sound was OK, the cassette sound was awful, so it was returned. We decided instead to go for a more expensive system which would allow us to control the sound easily, even without a cassette player. This Panasonic system is very good. Not only is the sound quality excellent, the two bass and treble controls mean we can reduce the bass significantly, even though all modern systems seem to like excessive bass. We've had it a week and played Bruce Springsteen, Mozart, Dusty Springfiled, Handel and others and been happy with the sound. The radio is good as well. Also, there's a 3.5mm jack socket in the back which enabled us to plug in our Sony Walkman and play cassettes, via the 'Aux' setting, and the sound was again, pretty good. Not too bothered about the speaker leads as it's on a small shelf in our flat.I would definitely recommend this system

Excellent!!
Set up was so simple. Added an external aerial and the dab sprang to life with crystal clear reception. Cd player tested with Mozart, Olivia Newton John and the electric light orchestra. My god this system is good, brings music CDs to another level,no hiss or anything. Mechanism is silent. Connected to my phone with ease . Better than my pioneer system I used to own, and that's saying something! At the price it's money very well spent.
