There are infinitely many worlds of shape and color you can see inside this prism, depending on kind and direction of light, your angle of sight, the surrounding environment, and other factors. You only have to play with the possibilities. For example, I have seen interlocking multi-hued grids reminiscent of some of Jack Storms' optical sculptures. You can combine the prism with graphics and even video to create spectacular light shows. This is one of the easiest and cheapest, quite addictive yet drug-free ways to visit and explore some avenues of hyperspace. The inclusion of a protective storage pouch or case with this fragile being would have made it super brilliant.Compared to the popular CMY cubes/polyhedra, which are typically made of acrylic and have color films laminated onto their faces, this x prism is made of clear optical glass with embedded filters. Although I also enjoy the former (and own a couple of them myself), I personally prefer the latter. While the CMY features strong, deep colors, the prism displays a much wider range of more delicate but equally beautiful hues splayed out in complex patterns of reflection/refraction.To sum up, there’s nothing quite like this cube to deliver a serious dose of “color therapy” and put a positive spin on life.

These cubes are beautiful! I keep them as an office decoration and they always leave a beautiful shine in my peripheral. Visitors are always interested in their mysterious multi-colored glow. Each of the sides is about as long as half your finger, which sounds small, but I'm happy with their larger-than-expected size; think about half the size of your average computer mouse, but shaped as a cube :)

These are lovely prisims. I gave the smaller of the two to my grandson to play with. I keep the lager one here on my desk just inside a window with sun light at different times of day.Thank you.scott allen

The cube does split white light into a red beam, a green beam, and a blue beam, but the incoming light must hit the cube on the right facet, so different facets should be tried by turning the cube.

This is a great prism, clear and beautiful. My son loves it and we use it as a prism to llok through and a decoration on the window sill. Great buy as well! We came back for another!

So this does refract light if you shine it in the correct side. but won't create a rainbow as a regular trianglular prism will do for you.
