A little too much "give" between the blades
The shears look and feel very well made. However, I am returning them because they had a little too much "give" when you held them and placed opposing pressure on the blades, kind of like an old pair of scissors has. It feels like the bolt holding them together needs to be tighter. I own another pair of shears of this style, the two blades feel very snug on that pair. I wish there was an option to exchange them with Bonsai Outlet (maybe it's just this specific pair), but I didn't see that in the return options. For a precision instrument, there should not be any wobble/give between the blades. I would gladly exchange the shears for a different pair, if Bonsai Outlet wants to email me etc... And assuming they're nice and snug, I would leave a better review.

Not New
I bought these scissors as a gift for my husband but when I opened the box, the scissors looked like they had been used. I showed them to a co-worker to make sure and she agreed. We noticed smudge markings on the blade and the handle did not look new at all. I am sure the blade works fine but when purchasing something, you expect brand new especially if it is a gift. I returned it.

Happiness
I got a bonsai tree as a Valentine’s gift. Never had one, always wanted to learn. So I bought these scissors, and I feel a little like Mr. Miagi from the karate kid. I can really focus on the plant and see how I want to prune, and the scissors really work well so far. Sharp, precise, ergonomic, substantial. So far. It’s only been a week, but I believe these scissors are going to last quite awhile.
