Amazing Pillow!
I purchased this pillow expressly for a recent trip from California to Florida and back again. In the past, sleeping on a plane was virtually impossible for me, regardless of how exhausted I was, due to the lack of comfort with the travel pillows that I was using. I would have the worst head and neck ache after my flights, so I decided that I was not going to be miserable on my upcoming flight, and decided to do some research on travel pillows, finding this one on Amazon.com. The overall rating (5 stars) and the price appealed to me, so I placed my order.Having been disappointed with the other pillows that I have purchased in the past (4 total), I didn't set my expectations to high. Well, I am so happy to say that, boy, was I wrong! Here's my review of the pillow:1. Love, love, love the fact that it is covered in such a nice, soft material! Doesn't make my neck hot and sweaty!2. It was remarkable how it held my head on both sides and allowed me to completely relax in the upright position! Wow!! Can't do that with the typical u-shaped pillows!3. Loved the fact that it is flat behind the neck and allows your head to lean back and not fall forward. Goodbye neck stiff neck!4. Loved how it snuggled around my ears and reduced the noise!5. And best of all - it's inflatable and fit in my bag! And, it went back into it's little pouch just perfect! My overall rating for this pillow is a 10 out of 10 and I will be purchasing more for my family!A truly amazing product design!

Good quality - Questionable design choice
On the plus side, the pillow is very space efficient and easy to carry. The felt like cover is soft and comfortable. It also feels durable. While I appreciate the attempt to innovate the back of the pillow, the result is less than satisfactory. Pressing my head to the back of the pillow causes the sides to fold up a bit, but didn't provide the support I wanted on a long plane ride. It was a bit hard to inflate compared to a similar travel pillow I have (the Lumbar support Inflatable back pillow by DesignGo. Highly recommended). However, it's not a deal breaker. Just pinch at the base of the blow tube.Overall, I wouldn't recommend the pillow, unless portability is your main criteria (in which case I would recommend it). While in China, I purchased a pillow similar to the DogBones NeckBones Chiropractic Neck Pillow on Amazon and found it much more supportive for a long trip. However, it is less portable.Usage: Trip from US to China and back. 30+ hrs on plane.Oh, and I am a "real reviewer" for this product as I notice that has been called into question with other reviews.Hope this helps.

The first neck pillow I've been able to use!
I've tried inflatable neck pillows before, and they've always been uncomfortable because they push my head forward instead of cradling it. Not this one! Although it has only one valve, it inflates the sides only and not the back, allowing me to sleep with my head tilted slightly to the side instead of forward. As a bonus, the pillow is covered with a soft, gray jersey material that can be removed for washing. There are two issues that keep me from giving this five stars. First, the valve is too short. It's great that the company included the kind of valve that must be squeezed to inflate or deflate, allowing the user to pause mid-inflation, but the neck of the valve is so short that it is difficult to squeeze and blow into it. I found it annoying with my small fingers; I cannot imagine what a pain it would be for someone with larger fingers. Second, when the pillow is fully inflated and in place, the front corners press against my neck, making me feel as though I'm being strangled. (You can imagine the problem by looking at the product photo.) I solved the issue by keeping the sides deflated enough so that I can bend the corners down and underneath. I don't know whether a person with a larger neck would find this less bothersome (because the thicker neck would push the opening wider) or more so (because the opening would push more on the throat.)Despite its drawbacks, this pillow beats out other inflatable neck pillows by the simplest of designs: no inflation behind the neck. I recommend this over other inflatable models for that reason alone. Note: The manufacturer supplied this product for review.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

failed my comfort test - may work for you
Because of its design, I could only use this pillow sitting up straight, bolt upright in fact. Then it sort of keeps your head in place but it does not fully prevent forward head drop. If you can sleep for hours sitting bolt upright with minimal head movement- this pillow is for you! I fly on 14 hour flights regularly. I like to roll to my side, maybe rest against the window and nestle in. I could not do that with this pillow. I could not get comfortable no matter what I tried. I hate to sound like on the "those people" but I had neck pain for3 days after trying to use it on a 6 hour flight when I needed to catch some sleep. So disappointed after doing a bunch of research. Silly since it's just a blow-up pillow, but I travel a lot, and wanted something dependable. My last cheap-o pillow lasted 8 years. I think I'll just pick up another on in the airport.
