X-Men by Jonathan Hickman Vol. 1

Great set of issues that serve more as individual short stories than one large narrative. Picks up towards the end

great follow up house of X powers of X. Good art and good for newcomers, #4 was the highlight

I was more than a little disappointed in this book. The only reason it was moved to ok for me was that potential of some of the story to come.The first story show the happy Summers family. Finally together across space and time.A new island has appeared. Is it friend or foe, and what of it mysterious inhabitants?A conference for a delegation of mutants are to meet the human leaders.The next story I really did not like I mean this is the new X-MEN villain? Pensioners?A young team is sent on a suicide mission. The opoersite of a last minute mission.The books starts and finishes with the Mother Mould.This book was too slow for me, really teasing the great things to come then delivering them here.

I love Hickman's work, but this is awful. Marvel must be paying him a lot of money. I stopped reading about a quarter the way in. Dialogue is atrocious, the plot is ludicrous - the only redeeming feature is the art. I'm disappointed because I always expect complexity and surprise from Hickman. Avoid.

Fantastic artwork as always with Marvel & the main storyline in intriguing, but the story perhaps has too many sub-plots which end up detracting from the main, in my opinion.

I liked how the story of the x-men was presented. And I used this product for comic collecting and reading.

I may be alone in this but I see this age of X-Men closely tied to the legalization of cannabis. Wishful thinking perhaps.
