About 4 years ago, I bought my first 7 oz container of bovine collagen. I bought it for aging issues, wrinkles and dry skin. What I noticed is a fast drop in my neck and upper back issues. I had a noticeable drop in tension, clicks and pops in my neck and the problems that arise from all that inflammation, pain and stress. Fewer migraines and migraines that were far less extreme. I've been a fan ever since and I do get worried when I can't get a good product. Smell and taste are a serious issue sometimes, and usually it effects many brands all at once, because the products are coming from the same supplier, I guess... problems. I now have several products that I like and they cover bovine, mixed protein and blends. My skin reacts pretty quickly by being far more hydrated, and far less snake skin or crepe. More elastic. Bad collagen can cause pain, migraines and it's bummer. Not all collagen is the same, so if that happens for you, and you don't see a change in your skin or you notice more inflammation, try another brand. I can say that this is so flavorless and every low scent even in hot liquids, plus the benefits. I am adding this to my very senior cat's wet food, he has no idea it is there. He has hip issues and it can't hurt to try this for him. As for cost or value, none of the collagen is reasonable right now. I wouldn't fall for bargain prices now either, feeling better is worth the investment but I get single products, no flavors, sugar, or other ingredients. Order just collagen, unflavored if you can, that's the best way to know what you are getting and to avoid fillers. You can customize at home. 5 stars

12/1/22: I am updating this review with before and after photos after 30 days on marine collagen. I am very impressed with the results and am changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I have been taking collagen along with hyaluronic acid for nearly 2 months now and it has really helped the appearance of my skin (primarily on my face). To date I have only tried bovine collagen so I thought I would give this a try. I detest the taste of fish 🐠 so I was a bit worried that this would taste fishy. I did my usually cocktail of 2 tbsps (the recommended dose) collagen in unsweetened vanilla almond milk along with a tsp of Stevia and liquid chlorophyll. It did not have a fishy taste at all, the only taste was that of the vanilla almond milk so I would say that this is indeed flavorless. I did some research to better understand the benefits of marine collagen over bovine and this is what I found on naturalforce: “Marine (fish) collagen is made from fish skin and scales and contains primarily type 1 collagen. Marine collagen has high bioavailability, is sustainably produced, and in clinical studies has been shown to help reduce wrinkle depth and increase skin moisture levels.” That was very healthful information because I am taking collagen primarily for my skin (specifically to reduce the wrinkles around my mouth and neck) and not for my joints. If you are like me and want to take collagen to reduce wrinkles or improve the health and appearance of your skin, this is a great option. I have taken “before” pictures and will post “after” pictures of any improvement to my skin after I have finished this 25 day supply (what’s up with that, why not 30).

The collagen arrived on time, undamaged, & well packaged. I have been using this product for about a week now. Keeping in mind it takes about 30 full days to see any significant improvements in health, I am noticing some small changes to date in reducing hair loss, but have not seen anything as of yet regarding skin or fingernails (still kind of early to tell). The collagen is as described. Absolutely flavorless so it doesn't add any flavor to your juice, tea, or water. Which is amazing given it is derived from marine collagens (I somewhat expected a "marine" aftertaste). It is light and very "fluffy"/powdery- which has both an advantage and disadvantage. As an advantage, it is not slimy in my tea or juice, nor do I experience any weird aftertaste. It's disadvantage is that this product is so "fluffy" it floats through the air as you scoop it, which is something I have not experienced with other collagen products. Recommended serving size is 2Tbsp., but there is NO scoop in the container, which means digging out a measuring spoon every time I want to add it to something (not a huge deal, but for some it might be an inconvenience). Adding in a proper serving size measuring scoop to this container would be a plus (& really shouldn't add much to the price, honestly). I am a little frustrated with getting this collagen to dissolve well in my juice and tea. Like most collagen, this does not dissolve well at all in anything that is ice cold or has ice added in. I tried to dissolve this in my hot tea in the morning (as I have had success with other collagens in this way) & my results were the same- a frustrating, clumpy, floating mess to dissolve, even trying to dissolve using a whisk. I have not tried to add this collagen to a smoothie yet, but perhaps that would work better because of any fat content (yogurt, mik, etc.). so, with there being seemingly more cons than pros to this collagen product, I am giving it 3 stars.

I've only been using this for a couple weeks, but I swear I see an improvement in my skin already! Plus I've had no GI upset from this, and I have had issues with bovine collagen and regular protein powder in the past. I would say it's almost totally flavourless, but there is a very slight kind of generic protein powder flavour/scent to it, so I drink it with flavoured water. It can be a bit hard to mix, so I recommend a coffee frother or a protein shaker

The other reviewers were right that this product is not completely tasteless. With that knowledge, I wasn't thrown off when the product arrived and I knew not to put it in my coffee. Fishy coffee sounds really yucky. I added it to my miso soups or broths that I drink during lunch, and it subtly enhances the flavour of the soups. However. The powder does not actually dissolve easily. I have been trying to add smaller quantities at a time and then stirring vigorously, instead of just scooping and chucking in 2 tablespoons like the first time I used this product. Because the powder clumped up into little white lumps... Will update in a few months if my skin/nails/hair show significant improvement. But so far I'm liking this product.

Thought I would let people know that I have now been taking this stuff daily (along with hyaluronic acid 150mg) for 6 months. I drink it by putting a cup boiling water over a couple of scoops, then flavor it with liquid chicken soup concentrate from Knorr. It is flavorless/unscented by itself, have no idea what the fish flavor/smell complaints are about as there are none. My knee pain had disappeared (from arthritis) at night, and I am generally less sore waking up in the morning. The skin on my face has improved, feels more elastic and firm. I don't think It is going to get rid of wrinkles but generally the skin has improved. My hair on my head appears to be thicker, and my eyelashes have grown a fair bit longer and are curling up in the outer corners. They look a little like false ones lately, but my eyelashes used to be long before i went into menopause, so they are back to what they were like when I was younger. It has done nothing for my nails though, they are still splitting. Over all, do not know if it is the collagen or the hyaluronic acid responsible for the positive changes but something is working, so it is worth the cost of both.
