Q: How do you seal the top?

I am a professional baker and I have never seen a piping bag that you can seal. I always twist the top so that the icing will not push back out of the top. There are clips you can buy, but I find that they just get in the way. Hope this helps.

Definitely you can pipe without a tip. I like a tip for all the different designs, but if it doesn't matter to you, then you will have no problem.
