I used this to cut some steel pipe and was able to make accurate cuts in sched 40 I needed for a project in the works.

Cut off tool & Inserts are a P.O.S.
If you're looking for a nice cut off tool w/ inserts, this is Not It. As mentioned by another reviewer, the inserts do not fit the tool holder properly. These are supposed to slide in by hand, not be a negative fit. The quality of the inserts are very poor, sharp burrs in places they shouldn't be. Even after removing the burrs with a diamond file, the insert still would not fit. The receiver slot in the tool holder was heavily shot peened w/ a rough surface finish. It's hard to tell if the tool slot was too small or the inserts too big, either way, if you're a conscientious machinist, don't waste your time w/ this product. Sometimes a great deal can be had on Amazon but this is not one of them. Item was Returned.

Doesn’t work
The cutting bit would not fit into the tool. I had to file some burrs and pound the bit into the tool. I know not a good idea with carbide but I was desperate. Lucky the bit stayed intact. However the bit sits to high ( above center) so it does not cut. Worthless tool.

I do recommend these, they are good for the price. Not top quality but what do you expect for the price.Would recommend for the lathe hobbyist!
