Turning back on thoughts of the girl he left behind, Derrick decides he needs to see it through and figure out why Jaymes is at the forefront of his thoughts again, he needs to know why his heart won't let him forget her.Jaymes helped Derrick get out, though he doesn't know how and she never plans to tell him, she knows that his success as a rockstar, his present life is partly in thanks to her - and though she doesn't begrudge the decisions that led her to help him that she paid the consequences for, she wishes life could be different. When Derrick re-enters her life, Jaymes couldn't be more uncertain, still longing to protect the boy, now man, she loves, but also wanting, finally to get something good for herself.There's a lot of secrets and pain between these two. These secrets led to choices that led them both down the paths to the present. Though it seems, at least with part of the choices, better communication would have made things different, there's also at least a bit of understanding that had their lives not taken the turns they had they may never have found themselves facing this second chance.The Rebellion is an angsty journey, it delivers us the story told with flashbacks to the past, and the results of said past in the present. The events that have happened to seperate these two are absolutely heartbreaking at times, but there's also a sheer determination to survive. This story is going to tear you to pieces, while mending you together and leaving you rooting for this second chance to take root and hold on.Derrick is such a great character, he's got a lot of heart, he's got regrets for sure, but he also owns his past in a way most don't; he knows where he came from, knows what it took to climb up to where he is now. He also knows what he left behind or lost as he made that climb and now he can focus on what he's missed out while he was reaching this place. He's funny and kind, generous and giving, gentle and loving, but also a man who commands attention, a star who knows his appeal and loves what it garners him.Jaymes, wow, first and foremost - She is one of the strongest female leads I have read in a long time. She's got a will of steel and determination in spades. She's one to put herself in danger to protect those she loves. She sees the positives in any situation, and though she recognizes all the bad around her, she doesn't let it hold her back or keep her down from meeting her goals. She loves wholeheartedly, even when it hurts her to hold on to that love. She's loyal, she's gorgeous though she doesn't recognize it.The Members of The Resistance have thier parts to play in this story, obviously - can't have a rockstar book without the band - and their presence just goes to show, even further what a family these guys (and their ladies) have become. The connections between them all, even when things are left unspoken, can be felt and are genuine and good. It was a beautiful thing to see, after all the hardships Jaymes had been through without Derrick that their genuine affection included her even when she was just the girl from Derrick's past.I think this book may well be one of S.L. Scott's best, I know its one of my favorites. The writing is compelling, it pulled me in and held me captive equal parts hurting for the characters and loving them. There were times I laughed, times I teared up, a few moments of suspense that left me on the edge of my seat, but with each flip of the page I craved more. Jaymes and Derrick's story isn't your usual rockstar romance, it's not even your typical second chance romance, but still they have a love that defys everything, as if it was written in the Stars.

What better way to celebrate than to read this story about 5 incredible mom's. All of them are protectors and loyal to their family - a family made by blood and a family made by the members of The Resistance. It was so heartwarming when Johnny, Holliday, Dex, Rochelle, Kaz, Lara and Tommy all stop in to make the story come full circle.This book is definitely SL Scott's best work yet! The Rebellion is so beautifully written - I have 248 highlighted passages! This story left me in a puddle. It's truly amazing!Rock on!

Second Chance Romance!!! Who doesn't love them? No one writes them better than Suzie Scott!! The story line is steady and very well written. The HOT scenes can take your breath away and still leave you wanting more!! I loved the main characters, hot rock star Derrick Masters and his past forever love Jaymes. I've followed the series from the very start and each book has a different story to tell and they just keep getting better!!!Can they over come all their past pains that they both endured? Can Jaymes learn to trust Derrick to save her and her precious son from the stress and danger they have lived through for so long? This book is a must read and I highly recommend you enjoy the entire series!! I Loved IT!!! <3

This is my first book for this author and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Its a long riveting read with plenty of twists and turns in the plot

I’ve loved this series. Great stories- brilliant characters and a storyline that keeps you hooked throughout! Definitely recommend this series- I’ve fallen into an SL Scott rabbit hole and I’m loving it!!

Wow. Amazing read and Loved it

I did enjoy this, a second chance tale with a few twists & some suspense. In a nutshell this type of story has been done before ie the young in love couple from a poor area, he leaves to follow his dream (in this case rock star) & she stays behind. Derrick returns about 5yrs later, tired of the lifestyle, looking for Jaymes but things are not the same.This is about them reconnecting & dealing with the aftermath of his leaving. Its not a pretty tale in parts however he wants to do the best he can to rectify things. It does come to a bit of head but it's over rather quickly, so perhaps there could've been a bit more there. There's also a nice twist at the end.
