Great product
This package arrived before schedule at a decent price. My purpose in purchasing this item was for making matcha. However, the strainer fits perfectly over many of my watter bottles, so it is quite perfect for making any kind of tea. I just brew it and pour it through the strainer into my water bottle or whatever I happen to be drinking out of. Ive used it for larger containers too. This little contraption has become incredibly useful.

I bought this strainer to help sift and break up any clumps is my matcha. It gets the job done, it's a little flimsy and not very sturdy but I like how fine the mesh is which helps produce a creamier bowl of matcha. ill probably use it till it breaks then try and find a sturdier one.

Satisfactory – works well, not great quality, overpriced
Works satisfactorily for sifting matcha. A bit shallower than other similar small strainers, which is good for its purpose, but the mesh is a bit irregularly shaped, which makes sifting less efficient. Mesh is not as fine as I expected, but it does the job. Made of soft metal (steel?), so all the parts (handle, frame, mesh) are quite easily bent. So it does not seem to be of high quality, and seems to be overpriced. It is obviously handmade, and has a "Made in Japan" sticker, both of which may explain the price. I'll probably keep it, although I probably should have bought the Oxo strainer for $8.99. No doubt that is better quality, though probably made in China.

It's a small sifter...
Excellent for sifting matcha - or anything else that requires a small sifter. It's well constructed with fine mesh. I use it for the large refills from Hibiki-an (the Pinnacle 4.2 oz. specialty Kuradashi/Competition, etc.). I'll sift a small quantity over parchment paper and refill the 1 oz. tin. It can also be used for flour, confectioner's sugar, etc. when a larger sifter (due to the mesh size) won't cut it (Not for baking where larger quantities of flour/sugar etc. are called for, but rather for sauces and such).
