I was really pleased to finally find Yaupon in bulk. Normally you can only find it in bags, an option that makes daily consumption too expensive. The flavor is bold, kind of like smoky chocolate, with no bitterness at all. I like the fact that the profits go to a good cause, reintroducing the plant to it's native habitat, and a pound lasts me over a month. It's a little on the pricey side, but i figure if i really want to I could just grow my own and am glad I can buy bulk so I can get used to it as my daily grind. I think it is much better and more fresh than mate, and would highly recommend this native caffeinated beverage.

I love the taste, and the health benefits, and it's a bonus that it is a native shrub.

Despite my preference for Yerba Mate, this tea packet didn't quite hit the mark for me. The flavor was disappointingly mild, lacking the robustness I usually enjoy in my beverages. While some may appreciate its subtle taste, I found it to be lacking in depth and character. The packaging was convenient, but unfortunately, the flavor didn't live up to my expectations. Overall, while it might suit those who prefer milder teas, it didn't quite satisfy my palate. I will stick to Yerba matte.

I like the flavor. I brew it in my kurig, and it works nicely.Good strong notes, with a rather piquant after taste.It costs more than coffee. But it does get the old log launching in the morning.

Yaupon is my daughter's favorite tea and this one is particularly good. Subtle but distinct taste, and wonderful aroma.

A little background. I like unsmoked yerba mate, mint, chamomile, green tea.This tea (Yaupon Light Roast) is nothing like any of them.The flavor of this tea made me nauseous On the plus side I did not feel like eating anything that afternoon :)There is no accounting for taste. Other people have liked it.It may work for you, but keep in mind that this is not a mainstream beverage.

I give it 5 stars for the seller making it the best it could be, for what it is. I encourage you to try it. However, it's holly - I still prefer chocolate, coffee, and tea. Maybe it's an acquired taste. Definitely better with honey & milk/cream. But I don't live in those regions. And later I found holly growing at the back of my property. Thank you for doing all the work and roasting it - now I realize I can make it myself :)

The smoky flavor is so strong that it almost seems the leaves were burnt. Flavor reminder me of a smell of cigarette ashes from an ashtray. Maybe the light roast is better? I'll never know because it is too expensive to try another bag of it when returns are not accepted.
