Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara, Volumizing and Separating Make Up Formula, Very Black, 1 Count

I’ve been using this mascara since it was first released back in the day. It’s quickly builds length and volume, making it perfect for sparse or short eyelashes.It only takes a couple of coats to get noticeable lash extension/definition, so it’s easy to over-apply it and cake/clump up your lashes, especially the bottoms. I like to apply 2-3 coats then do a little wiggle to break up any lashes that have stuck together. If you over-apply the mascara you may get little specks that get in or around your eye.The mascara lasts a long time and is easily removed with standard makeup removers and wipes. Depending on your activity you may see a couple of specks by the end of the day. Regardless, I’ve worn this mascara to parties in my 20’s and meetings in my 30’s, and my lashes would always look defined and voluminous.I like to wear false upper eyelashes, but not false lower lashes. Instead I use this mascara on my lower lashes. I can easily match the style of my upper lashes whether they’re natural, dramatic or costume-like.I’m glad that this mascara hasn’t changed in quality over a long period of time! I’ve used different brands here and there, but nothing compares to this one!

This is the ONLY mascara I have used that (after using the curling contraption our moms used), works to hold the lashes just the way it looks after curled. The first picture is the mascara, no touch ups (I pinky promise) 14 hours after application. I put it on at 7 am, it's now 9pm and I took that picture specifically for this review. It keeps my lashes long, curled, and doesn't smear off. Its the same one I've been using for years. The other millions of mascaras that I have used, weighed my lashes down and took forever to dry so by the time they did my lashes were flat again. The second picture is a Snap (flawless skin filter), of the lashes this morning. Curl your lashes, apply mascara and it stays that way all day (another pinky promise).

This mascara really does make my lashes look longer and fuller but after an 8 hour shift of work and wear, my lashes felt extremely heavy and sticky and my eyes were starting to get irritated. I noticed some flaking as well after a few hours of wear. It's great for short term wear and special occasions but I won't be wearing it for any more long work shifts.

At 70-years-old, trust me, I have tried dozens of different waterproof mascaras, any range of prices. You've been there, like Goldilocks!..one is too thin doesn't give you any coverage. And then one is too thick, clumpy, or makes your lashes stick together. Or the brush pokes you in the eye trying to get mascara on. And then one doesn't come off easily, one isn't waterproof, And then one make sure eyes water. I used to be a contact lens wear, but my eyes water often, and I sneeze a lot. So a waterproof is a must for me. I finally found this one. And I have to say it is perfect, and comes off easily with waterproof remover without pulling off your lashes. The brush is more flat And is easy to go underneath your lashes and pull upwards. It is also curved a little, so you don't need an eyelash curler. Plus, it's not too big that you get it all over, it's not too thin either, just right. The mascara goes on smoothly, and one coat is really perfect. If you want to put a second coat on, it is still a little wet so you don't get the clumps. I am very happy with this mascara and it will be my go-to from now on.
