I have never used candy molds before. There was a small learning curve for me. I am so happy with the way the shells and sea creatures turned out! It was so fun to make this mermaid /sandcastle cake for my granddaughter. The little candies made all the difference.

FANTASTIC molds! I used Wilton fondant with no issues at all for any of the shapes. My not quite 6 year old daughter used them with ease, as well...no help needed by me. (She's already mommy's cake helper)Advice for using:**Keep small saucer of cornstarch nearby to battle sticky fingers from warm fondant. **1. Do not powder the molds or grease... it's not needed.2. Take small pieces of fondant to slowly fill the mold shape. Don't be afraid to bend the silicon apart for placing fondant/gumpaste in smaller cavities. Push firmly into every crevice.3. Try not to overfill so you don't have to add steps. Fondant should be approximately level with top of mold. If it IS, skip to step 5.4. If overfull, no fear! Pick small pieces off top if you can with fingers dried with cornstarch. If necessary, take non-serated sharp knife, dip lightly in cornstarch to prevent sticking, and carefully slide knife along top edge of mold to skim off the extra. Re-pat evenly into mold.5. Carefully push figure out of mold from the back. Don't pull! Silicon bends for a reason.**Store on cookie sheet lined with wax paper to prevent sticking until using, or until dry if using gumpaste or tylose powder.Love love love these!

I ordered these to use with candy melts to put on a birthday cake. The main focus for me was the mermaid tail, though I chose this one over others, for the cute seashells and seahorses. I was drawn by the reviews that showed what the final result was. Such amazing details!! These were all so sturdy, it made the candy making process so very easy. Unlike the typical flimsy silicone molds that bend and flop the moment you pick them up, these molds didn't wobble at all, which is great because then you don't ruin the product if you bump the mold or when you pick it up to put in the fridge, for example. They were very easy to use. I was able to make the mermaid tail 2 different colors, very cute. Also, using a butter knife, I was able to easily scrape any excess candy off, cleanly, before refrigerating. They hardened quickly and were very easy to remove. Cleaning was simple, just put them on the top rack of the dish washer, inside facing down, and the fact that they are heavy and sturdy, means they were in the same place they started once the cycle was done. Also, when the candy comes out, there's virtually not a speck of candy left behind, and warm water washes off anything that you might have dripped on the outside, easily. There's no funky, plasticky taste or smell either. One thing that works well with these to create candy without bubbles in it, bang the mold gently on the counter a couple times, bubbles will go away, also squeeze the sides of the mold a little in order to spread out melted candy in tiny crevices. My only complaint, is that the thin parts of the seahorse tails and snouts broke almost immediately upon trying to remove. However the other shapes came out easily. All you have to do is peel back the mold and out it comes, but be careful with the mermaid tail, as the end will break off if you aren't gentle when removing. Overall, really great product!

Great price easy to use I put the sea molds I’m my shells and put the in my garden give them for gifts everyone just loves them plus it’s so fun to do.

These molds are so neat! Good value!

I bought these to use with melted chocolate wafers and they worked well! I bought white chocolate wafers, separated them in 4 bowls and melted the wafers in the microwave in 30 second increments, then added food coloring, mixed together filled molds using a knife or pastry bag (both worked well, pastry bag was neater) then stuck them in the freezer for a few minutes. The flexible molds allowed them to pop out easily with the exception of the coral sea horses, which broke coming out due to the thin area but I was still able to use them. I refrigerated them after removing them from molds until I was ready to put them on the cake. Very satisfied with how it turned out!

These molds were amazing for my daughters mermaid cake.I had so much fun making her cake this year.This was my first time using molds.I used fondant.My recommendation is use corn starch to dust the mold before using for easy removal.I made every decoration you see on my cake with these molds.When making the tails don’t make them to thick because my tails kept breaking due to the thickness so I just played around and made them thinner and it worked.I just hand rolled the pearls and bubbles.I let them dry overnight before painting.Then let them dry overnight again before placing on cake using some buttercream as a glue.These are delicate after making due to all the detail just handle carefully and in a low humidity area.The only complaint is the one seahorse mold looked like it came with a baby one but it wasn’t formed properly and just looked weird.However there is another seahorse mold with a smaller one that worked well.So no big deal.I love these molds and highly recommend.

I didn’t receive 2 molds as advertised. When I opened my parcel I noticed only 6 silicone molds rather than the 8 I thought I was paying for….

Missing 2 molds and of course the ones i needed for tomorrow.
