Color:black This Cat 6 shielded twisted pair F/UTP cable is a high performance data communication cable suitable for 550mhz high speed applications. It has excellent attenuation and crosstalk characteristics and exceeds TIA/EIA-568-C.2 specification. This ethernet cable is designed for indoor and riser network installations and is approved by ETL to be type CMR. The wires are 23 awg in size and are made of solid bare copper conductors. All 4 pairs are easily identified by color stripes. The insulation material is HDPE and the jacket is made of PVC and the cable is equipped with AL foil as a shield and drain wire. This cable is supplied in 1000 feet wooden spool and sequential length markings are printed on the jacket. Brand for this product is Vertical Cable.

The cable is great, but won't fit into RJ-45 connectors!
Something about this cable is wrong. The cable is great, it has all that I want in it but we cannot get connectors that it will fit into. The RJ-45 connectors we had were too small for the wire so I bought new ones. I bought the pass through type specifically for 23-24awg wire and the wire is still too big. We ended up having to get punch down connectors and make patch cables with different CAT6 cable we already had to make this work. I don't understand why it's not working, but it is very frustrating. It seems like maybe we need special RJ-45 connectors, but that shouldn't be.Update: I've now tried three different connectors and the cable will not fit in any of them. Even those I've used other CAT6 cable with the wires will not fit into anything. Frustrating

Working well, here are the plugs, jacks, and crimp tool I used
Running cable through existing walls is generally pretty terrible. The rigidness of this cable seemed to help push the cable through. For horizontal runs I used a fiberglass pole from a tent. I made a small stand for the reel so the reel would easily spin as the cable is pulled. The cable has foil and a drain line, and solid conductors. It took a while to find parts that worked, but I used "Cable MattersĀ® (6 Pack) RJ45 Cat6A Shielded Metal Keystone Jacks", "Cable Matters Cat6a RJ45 Modular Plugs", "Platinum Tele-TitanTMXg 2.0 CAT6A/10Gig Crimp Tool". Also, a few plates from either HomeDepot or Lowes. Great improvement over wireless.

Better than "Cable Matters In-Wall Rated (CM) Cat6a Shielded (SSTP/SFTP) Ethernet Cable in White 1000 Feet"
I have purchased both this cable and the "Cable Matters In-Wall Rated (CM) Cat6a Shielded (SSTP/SFTP) Ethernet Cable in White 1000 Feet", both sold on Amazon. This cable is much better quality than the other more expensive cable mentioned. This "Cat6 shielded" cable has one foil shield that encloses the whole bundle of twisted pairs with a spline to separate pairs, the other "Cat6a shielded" cable has each pair individually wrapped with foil then the whole bundle wrapped with wire screen, but there is no spline. I thought a spline was required to meet cat5/6 specs? The insulation on the other "Cat6a" wire is cheap, it easily tears while straightening wires in prep for connector. The twist on the other "Cat6a" wire are very loose, it appears to have even less twist than Cat5 cable. I thought Cat6/a wire had tighter twist. This "Cat6" cable properly fits the "8MM Strain Relief Boots for Category 6A, 6E (& 5E), Shielded Modular Plugs" by QuickTreX sold on Amazon. The other "Cat6a" cable has a smaller outside diameter(no spline) so there is a gap between the boot and cable. While this "Cat6" cable does not have each pair individually shielded like the other "Cat6a", this "Cat6" does have a spline, it does have a tighter twist, it does have quality insulation, it does have proper outside diameter, it does have a better price.Side by side, this "Cat6" cable has better quality that the other "Cat6a" cable sold here on Amazon. While I have not had any problems with the other "Cat6a" cable. I am worried about the cheap insulation (that tore so easily while installing the connectors) will someday develop a short along its length.

Great cable
Excellent quality wire, made very well and easy to work with. The conductors are every bit of the promised 23 guage, and the insulation is generous. The only issue I had with the wire, which is something to be aware of, is that because it is so thick it is almost impossible to terminate with plug ends. I had to terminate with a keystone jack, and then use a patch cable instead of my intended plug end. Punching down onto a patch panel, or the keystone jack, was easy enough. (This was not for a Cat6 compliant data network but I needed the shielded wire for EMI protection, and Cat6 for future proofing)Another plus is that the colors on the wires are a deep rich color and so distinguishing which wire is which, especially between the Bl/W and Gr/W, was easier than other wire I have worked with. A slighlty wider stripe on the white wires would be a plus, but it is good as it is.You do need to take into account the extra width of the cable when planning conduit runs or hangers or drilling holes, and also you can not bend this as tightly as normal Cat5 or Cat6 wire. The shielding wire is thinner but still adequate. and I had no issues with it at all.Excellent product and at a decent price. Shipping was prompt and delivery quick and packaging was good.

industrial ethernet cable
The roll I got from seller "Vertical Cable" was as shielded cable and correctly marked as described. Excellent quality cable at a very fair price. We've put a lot of this in our plant with no problems so far.EDIT: I have ordered this a few times now, sometimes I get heavy foil-shielded cable, sometimes I get basic thin unshielded cable. Same seller, same re-order item every time.

Great cable for infrastructure!
As others has attested, this is a heavy duty wire. I recently pulled about 3600 feet. The ground wire was sufficient for me to bundle 20 of them together and crimp a barrell on to ground with a 12 guage wire. A couple of things to be aware of:I don't think this wire is intended to be used to make patch cables. It is not very flexible, but made for network infrastructure, patch panel, keystone or ethercon. The rip string is sometimes under the foil shield, and sometimes broke when I tried to use it. I got by, but the sheath is very tough.Because of the 23ga wire, my punchdown tool would only cut about half the time, maybe need a new blade.edit: if I were to do it again, I would use a patch panel designed to have the wires go straight out the back and not bend 90 degrees, this is very tough for this cable to do.All in all I rate this wire 5 stars for what it was intended to do.Shipping and packaging were as expected. Ship time was great!

It's CAT6a not CAT6.
