DuncanToys Windrunner Yo-Yo [Red] - Unresponsive Pro Level Aluminum Yo-Yo with Double Rim, Concave Bearing, SG Sticker Response

Yeah, I am as old as your father and grew up with two kinds of yoyos- imperials and butterflys. I peaked on tricks, and wanted to get back into it after seeing kids do all sorts of string tricks on the Internet. Be forewarned- just because you buy an expert level yoyo, you will not automatically be yoyoing like an expert!When I first tried it, I got a little frustrated when I quickly learned why it is called nonresponsive. The yoyo will properly not come up no matter what you do to tug it. I read reviews about people breaking it by trying to tighten the bearing to try to get it to tug up. If you do not know what it means to bind a yoyo, you need to understand that this is designed to be used in a way that could be completely different from what you are used to.After a couple of days I learned how to use the yoyo and am happy to report the learning curve for string tricks is pretty steep. I am able to do tricks I only dreamed about and the challenge of getting better is back.The yoyo is a work of art. Form follows functions and this thing is made to spin forever and catch strings. I think is it amazing that you can buy a top-of-the-line piece of world-class equipment in a sport for only 30 bucks.

The media could not be loaded.  I normally buy magic yoyo products for their price, but the windrunner had enticed me for some time, so I finally bought it. The first one arrived and appears to be perfect, but once I threw it I knew something was off. The spin felt like the yoyo was pulsing on the string, vibrating, instead of spinning smoothly. And upon further inspection the bearings also looks old.I didn't think much of it and simply asked for a replacement, prepared to send back the yoyo in place for a different, hopefully better copy.So imagine my disappointment when the replacement arrives, and is worse than the original, covered in dings and scratches, as if this yoyo was a return in itself.I had always liked duncan, as they are what I started on, but it's a shame when I get better consistent quality from a budget Chinese company like magic yoyo, than I do with an American company like Duncan. Just disappointing

I like to walk around and fidget when I think. A yoyo is great for that. Since I haven't really used one since I was a kid, I had a hard time trying to use this one. It's a really good yoyo, but just not for someone who is new or starting at it again.

The Bad: The only issue I had with this object is that the string that it comes with is not that great. 2 days in and the string broke.The good: Fairly smooth spin, nice finish and weight balance and total weight feels great.When I placed a newer better string on it, it became a really wonderful yo-yo. With that being said, strings need to be replaced on any yo-yo fairly often.Not a starter yo-yo.

Okay so sadly mine broke but that’s my fault I tightened both sides together to tight and stripped it luckily I’m not gonna be a baby about it and throw a fit they are sending me a replacement ASAP I just recommend to be careful tightening it just spin one half of the yo-yo after is in the threads just a hard flick and let it tighten it selfUpdate I received the replacement pretty quick and this one has very good color pattern and is balanced way better than the last one

4 sta because it breaks my string and it's pretty hard to get on but other than that it's good for tricks and for the family I will I've it a 4.92/5

Product page says red with gold splash at the top however after I ordered it showed red in orders so I had to wait to find out, recieved today and as suspected mine was red without the splash but I'm not bothered because I actually prefer it being a uniform colour. Removed a star for the uncertainty after ordering not due to the product itself. I ordered this yoyo after being unable to preform some tricks on a cheaper basic yoyo and straight out the box I've been able to complete some cool tricks and looking forward to trying out more advanced ones.

Nothing will go wrong if you go with any of Duncan’s unresponsive metal yo-yos. Wind runner’s silent, stable and has that tad bit of weight for accuracy.

Love this yoyo. I think there must be a problem with this one. Am going to by another hoping it's better. They rock!
