Works flawlessly for a Samsung Galaxy S21+ - wish it wasn’t needed!
This genuine Samsung USB C to 3.5mm jack adapter simply works. It provides good sound, and I am once again able to use all my wired earphones & headphones with my new Samsung Galaxy S21+. I see that many have deducted a star from their rating because they are frustrated with Samsung (either because they removed the 3.5mm jack or simply because they didn’t provide this adapter in the box with their new, highly expensive flagship phones). While I am also frustrated, I won’t deduct a star from this product because it works flawlessly. If you want to make use of a nice, wired headphone set on a newer Samsung phone, this is the product you need.I did try a couple of generic alternatives before purchasing this Samsung adapter that I will list below. Unfortunately, neither worked well when using headphones or earphones with a mic to make phone calls. Everyone I tried calling using these generic adapters reported a buzzing, hum, or some other audio defect (I heard no interference on my end – it was just on the other side). However, I didn’t return the generics because they are still useful for listening only (and I can strategically place them so as to avoid carrying an adapter around everywhere I go).If you just want a cheap adapter for listening to music, a podcast, a TikTok video, etc., the following adapter may work for you (however, keep in mind it is only about $3 cheaper than this Samsung product):USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter, ACAGET USB Type C Dongle Audio Jack Converter. The following option is a few dollars more expensive than this Samsung product, but it does allow for charging while listening:USB C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter, Sniokco 2-in-1 Type C to 3.5mm Audio Adapter and 30W Fast Charging. This genuine Samsung product does not have the audio defects during phone calls that the above two generic offerings do. Basically, this Samsung product gets a full 5-stars, but Samsung customer care does not!If you are in the market for new wired earphones anyway, and want to go directly to a USB C set that does not require an adapter, I do recommend the genuine Samsung brand:SAMSUNG EO-IC100BBEGUS Corded Type-C Earphones.Based on some reviews, make sure you are purchasing from Amazon to avoid knock-offs. I have purchased and tested these, and they work well. Of course, they can ONLY be used on my Samsung phone and NONE of my many other devices. Not to mention that every prior flagship phone I’ve purchased from Samsung included a nice set of earphones, but not the Samsung Galaxy S21! I have not been able to find USB C over the ear wired headphones.Regarding customer frustration with Samsung... I feel the need to rant, since I didn’t deduct any stars. For a few years, Samsung advertising chose to poke fun at Apple for getting rid of the 3.5mm headphone jacks. Then Samsung pulled the decisively weak move of silently removing this advertising and following Apple’s lead by ridding their own flagship phones of the 3.5mm jacks.None of Samsung’s loyal customers wanted this headphone jack removal. Bluetooth isn’t for everyone, and many of us already have an assortment of nice earphones and headphones now rendered useless (for phone use). This move feels more like a cost-saving measure (for Samsung, not their customers) more than innovation; maybe it’s even an “Apple-like” push to force customers into an upgrade to Samsung’s expensive Bluetooth earbud options.Removal of the analogue jack provided no discernable gain in form, fit, or function. For example, the IP68 dust and water resistance rating of the newest Samsung Galaxy S21 (no headphone jack) remains unchanged from my much older Samsung Galaxy S8 (has headphone jack). Easier for Samsung to engineer? Yes. Cheaper for Samsung to manufacture? Yes. Responsive to Samsung Customer needs & wants? No. Cheaper for the Samsung Customer? No.

Samsung part that works well with Samsung phones
My aunt bought a new Samsung phone and didn't want to have to buy new earphones. So in comes this adapter. Works great, it's an official Samsung adapter which she preferred. It's just long enough, sturdy, easy to use, and the earphones are still as loud as she likes them.

ONLY Order "Sold & Shipped by Amazon" - MANY Counterfeits!
I own several of these inexpensive Samsung DAC/Audio dongles and find the sound is extremely good given the low cost. I've used them with smartphones, Chromebooks and even my Mac Pro desktop and they work flawlessly with all of them for both output and mic input when using a mic supplied headset. They are the best sounding of the low cost dongles out there, IMHO.So why the many bad reviews? Counterfeits, that's why! Samsung product like this one are frequently counterfeited. It's a problem that Samsung has tried to deal with but had little success. Unscrupulous people counterfeit these product because of the Samsung name. If you are going to buy one of these USB-C headphone adapters (DACs) then be sure to only buy a unit that is both sold and shipped by Amazon. This will hopefully ensure you don't end up with a counterfeit (but nothing is totally guaranteed given the huge number of unscrupulous counterfeiters operating mostly out of China). If it is a counterfeit knockoff you have no idea what type of low cost digital-to-audio chips have put into the product but you can bet they are not of very high quality. BTW, Samsung manufactures their own chips and is one of the premier suppliers of semiconductors around the world. My only compliant with this Samsung audio "jack adapter" is that the cable is somewhat thin and prone to breakage. You'll need to be careful to not put too much stress on it. However, I'm giving this product (when it is, indeed, the real deal and not a knockoff counterfeit) 5-stars even with the thin cabling. The sound is delightful for such a small audio DAC. This is coming from someone who owns lots of high-end audio equipment and knows good sound. Get this one. It's a quality Samsung product with great sound at an extremely reasonable price (~ $10). Just be careful of the massive counterfeit market out there selling defective products under established, well known names like Samsung.

Is this a legit samsung product?
It works but where is the packaging, it came in a plastic bag with Chinese writing. This looks like a cheap knock off. I paid more because I thought it was a legit samsung product.

Excelente
Hace su trabajo tal cómo era de esperarse, sin suprimir frecuencias en el audio como sucede con los adaptadores baratos

Did not work properly with my S25+. Volume on SiriusXM app very low and caused static.

Actually works well, yay.
After trying off brand units, and having various issues, this one worked flawlessly (with a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra). Audio sounds good, and audio into the phone also works well. I hope it lasts!
