Premium Black Paper Sketchbook (5-1/4'' wide x 8-1/2'' high)

Smooth paper, a generous amount of pages compared to other brands, acid free, & a nice cover. Book lays flat when open. Please don't ever stop making these, I will be buying more!

This is just the perfect little black book to finally have good heavy black paper in a sketchbook. Now that I have every color it's probably time I do something in each of them! I have a black paper journal I was using before but it has dot paper I it so I'm really happy to have a good well bound hardcover all black sketchbook with solid black paper in it. It's very well made and the paper is smooth and heavy enough to handle erasing and gouache or acrylic and any type.of paint pen or gel pen or metallic marker you can throw at it. I'm sure metallic and brightly colored colored pencils would look stunning as well. It's going to be a lot of fun and I'm about to grab it now that I've gotten myself all excited about what to do with it! Definitely a must buy, if you're looking at these reviews it probably means you're interested so go for it. Oh and it has a ton of pages too.

Love this sketchbook for several reasons - for one, the claim that the binding lays flat for "ease of use" is absolutely accurate in my experience which is great, world of difference from some sketchbooks. The hardcover is durable, so despite the small size I've had no concerns nor any issues with it being crushed or crunched or bent in any bags or backpacks.Paper quality is fantastic in my opinion - I'm not so much a drawing type as I am doodling, but boy do I press HARD when I'm doodling sometimes. In the picture of one of my doodles, you can see the imprint on the back side of the previous page, however the paper didn't rip and I've never had a problem with that (in this book - other times, has been an issue). Also, despite pressing that hard, the following page isn't 'ruined' with a total outline of whatever was just drawn. Gelly roll metallic pens are what I use for the black paper, some of the more neon shades from their classic or moonlight collections show up well which is fun, and the gelly roll stardust collection pens are nice for accenting/finishing touches over the metallic or neonOne more thing - love the perforations, very easy to remove pages cleanly. And love that this is from a small business!Will certainly purchase from them again without hesitation, I'm a brand loyal type and I've found my brand lol

Solid product. Pages are as described - high quality, and if you use appropriate utensils, it's an extremely rewarding writing/drawing medium.Missed a 5th star, because of the binding...the spine does what spines do, and the pages tend not to want to lay flat...with the smaller pages, this is both more pronounced and less easily avoided or accommodated..... that's the nature of this binding, and the manufacturer makes the most of it.Having said that, I'd love to see either a top-margin (legal style) version, or, given the number of pages included (another plus, btw), a ring-bound model (so the pages lay flat, without issue)All in all, a great value; an unregretted purchase 👍

Havent run into any issues with it at all, it's a beautiful little book. I'm not using it for drawing, I'm using it more like a portfolio book. Everything is solid black, not even the slightest hint of white or any color. Love it!

It was slightly smaller than expected, but still a great size for what I’m using it for. The stickers feel like I might be able to remove them if I wanted to. I bought a cheap pack of metallic gel pens to use in it and they worked great. Highly recommend for journaling or doodling.

It was very difficult to find a notebook with true black paper, but this one is the real deal (like black card stock). Most journals and notebooks are white paper with black ink coating, making it difficult to write on and not truly saturated.The pages are a bit thick, which I like, so there is no bleed through. My white gel pens work perfectly on it. It’s sold as a sketch pad but I use it’s a work journal.Just about to buy my second book!

This book has been my go to for my charcoal and prismacolor drawings/sketches. It’s got those easy tear pages which I really like and the paper is decent quality and will take a decent amount of abuse.
