I bought this because it's dry in my house and my nose was starting to have dry crusted blood in it and it was very uncomfortable. Within hours of setting it up, I felt relief. I have a 2 story home and have this downstairs. I would say downstairs is maybe 740 sqft open concept and it does a good job adding moisture to the air. I can't say if there is more moisture in every sq fy of the downstairs but in the areas I spend the most time in it does. So far no leaks. I do have to fill it more than I like but that's just part of it and it isn't too difficult to do. I have not cleaned it yet so I can't speak to the difficulty of that however if it proves to be very tedious or impossible I will come back and update. I'd recommend.

UPDATE: so i’ve had this for like, 8 months. my one issue with it is … it smells. i use distilled water. i clean it after every use and allow it to dry (i set up a small desk fan pointing straight inside of it to dry it even better) - there’s no smell once i clean it, of course.then, i add a gallon of distilled water and set it up and within a few hours (i run it on the lowest setting, and i’m sure this is the issue. because this makes it go longer than 24 hours [though this smell happens wayyy before 24 hours]. i’d guess the water lasts about 40 hours on low), it stinks up the room it’s in. it smells like when clothes don’t dry all the way. that mildew smell. when i take it apart to clean it, there’s pink stuff (bacteria) in a lot of places, especially this one piece that comes off (only way to clean it properly - see pics). this would be so perfect if it just didn’t stink up the whole area it’s in. when you smell the water coming out, while the humidifier is running, it smells like mildew and it just makes ya feel like you’re spreading that all over the room.so, my advice is - don’t run this for longer than a few hours without cleaning it. i really wish it would last a whole gallon. i don’t know what to do to make this not happen. i follow the instructions for cleaning. again, there’s no smell after cleaning and when it’s first in use. i’d love to know how to make sure this doesn’t happen. i’m fine with having to clean it. that’s just what you have to do. it’s water in a closed container. but does it have to smell.. and so soon? 😩still absolutely love the app.ORIGINAL: I am IN LOVE with this (had to say it again). I absolutely recommend it. I haven’t tried to clean it yet, but I looked at how the humidifier is put together and read the manual and it doesn’t seem all that hard - if that changes, I’ll edit this. But honestly, I was so nervous about this purchase. I looked at soooo many options and it was so overwhelming. I’m glad I settled on this one. The app is really cool. I don’t even touch the humidifier to control it at all. My son named it Wally. I have 2 hygrometers because I have a ton of houseplants and, while it’s not changing the humidity drastically (it’s not meant to. it’s meant to keep it comfortable. this isn’t gonna put your humidity at 80-90% or anything even close to that), it helps so much. Obviously I haven’t had it long enough to tell for my plants, but my boyfriends been really stuffed up and he’s been bragging about how helpful this has been. Within an hour of me having it on, he noticed a difference. We have a small 2 bedroom (752 sq ft) and I think it does well for the whole house, honestly. My hygrometer which was about 6 feet away, got to 54% with it on the second mist setting. I’ve only kept it on for a few hours at a time. I’ll set it for 4 hours here and there. I love that the app allows you to turn it off and on, set a timer for it, set how much mist you want. And you can direct the mist. It’s SUPER quiet. My space heaters are wayyy louder than this thing. 10/10 recommend. Absolutely.

Works as it should. DO NOT use regular tap water in this style ultrasonic humidifier. It will aerosolize any particulate (calcium, bacteria, etc) in the water and breathing that is unhealthy for your lungs. This will be visible as a white powder/dust on surfaces near it. Use distilled or maybe reverse osmosis water only!

This humidifier has been a game changer for my husband and me! The noise level is non-existent. It is so quiet. Depending on where you set your humidity level for the room, the water tank can last for two nights. It is very easy to fill the water tank and begin. The phone app is exceedingly easy and convenient!! I wake up with more hydrated skin and my husband’s sinuses are completely supported. He snores less…a total win!

After having this unit for 4 years now. I actively used it only the first 2 years because the mineral buildup is so large that it's almost impossible to completely clean it. I use vinegar to decalcify and remove limescale. When using only filtered water, it still eventually creates a large mineral buildup and the black component's erosion. using the essential oil speeds up the buildup of not only minerals but also of stale humidity smell. I eventually got a bigger unit that lasts 3 days (instead of 1) and can use deminiralization tablets to clean itself. very helpful. This product is elegant, cool but do not expect more than 1 year or 2 year of use out of it. Expect to eventually replace it with a new one, bigger one, quieter one, with smart capabilities for easy scheduling, etc. etc.
