Buy this book...you won't be sorry
This is a rare mystery because it combines a sophisticated understanding of Greek myths with a rollicking story and a new chief detective, Perry. The author has the understanding but I had none so had to be guided by him. If this sounds as if this is a tough book to read, it is NOT. It is riveting. I recommend it highly. Also, don't be put off that the author is a male; both male and female characters are well-drawn and ring true. This novel has something for everyone.

Worth every penny and minute
Just for the record this is an honest review. Yes, I read the entire book and no, no one’s paying me to say nice things about it. I like mysteries/thrillers and I really liked this one, it has a good plot with unusual twists and a bit of humor. Even though it’s set in modern times, the author weaves in a lot of interesting details from history without the story line getting bogged down by all that. Easy to visualize the action. Characters are so well developed and quirky I thought the interaction between them was one of the best things. There’s lots of clever conversation and fast-paced events. An added bonus—you’re not going to find an unholy bunch of typos or loose ends in this book--it’s actually well-written and entertaining.

A great read, couldn't put it down!
This book was a delightful surprise. I was drawn in by the characters from the beginning but didn't expect the heart pounding suspense as I got deeper into the story. Loved the mythology, kink, and quirkiness throughout. I want to read more adventures of Nick Perry and Josephine Clay!

Loved this Book!
I was drawn to this book because it is set in NYC. I live in Atlanta but love to visit New York and I felt as if I had spent a few days there as I read Bloodline of the Minotaur. I was kind of put off by the title because it didn't sound like my kind of book at all. It is a contemporary story but it does wind some Greek mythology into it. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel!

Great Murder Mystery!
I like what one of the other reviewers said "Mystery, Art, And Murder" so I'm stealing it. I love the Gabriel Allon character in Daniel Silva's books so when I saw this one I jumped at reading it. It is fast paced and I love the quirky characters and the way the author shared their inner dialogue. I also appreciate the historical content much as I appreciate Dan Brown's interweaving of the fact and fiction of some of our real life mysteries. James Cannon does a great job of this as well. Thoroughly enjoyed to read!

Mystery, Art, and Mythology
Cannon unravels a murder mystery against a backdrop of art history, ancient mythology, and cult rituals in "Bloodline of the Minotaur". He uses words to create vivid images of the dark side of the NYC art scene and fills these scenes with well developed, believable characters. This book is an intriguing read for those who love a complex mystery enhanced by the power of art and symbolism of ancient rites. James Cannon, looking forward to your next book.
