The Science of TV's the Big Bang Theory: Explanations Even Penny Would Understand

An incredible book about a great show!
I have been a fan of the Big Bang Theory since I watched the first episode, somewhat warily, expecting it to be a show that would probably not last the full season. I was pleasantly surprised. And instantly hooked. As a lifelong geek, who became interested in theoretical physics when a chemistry instructor pointed out that light could be both a particle and a wave (a mind blowing concept) I have read much on the subject. I recall visiting a college I was considering attending, and talking to the head of the physics department. He asked if I had any questions. I asked him to explain how that was possible. His answer basically boiled down to, "It just is." He was expecting me to ask about requirements, or such, and I took advantage to seek an answer to a tough question. In this book, I found the best explanation of this contradictory concept I have seen. I have also enjoyed other discussions of topics mentioned on the show. The Big Bang Theory is well known for hiring people who actually understand the science to help the actors. For the most part, the show is extremely realistic in terms of things like equations on white boards, and concepts discussed. And this book expands on that. If you love the show, and you are interested in what is mentioned, this is an excellent resource. I highly recommend it.

Not Big ?ang related.
I thought it was going to be Big Bang related. It was a Xmas present for a pre teen. She's very intelligent, so she might like it. Very disappointed. Just a lot of science related facts. Nothing Ito do I with Big Bang at all.
