A very good gaming laptop for the price. Highly recommend!
I ordered the Omen by HP 2019 17-Inch Gaming Laptop last week and I could not be happier with this beast of a laptop. Shipping was fast and the item came well packaged. When I first started the system, I was having issues, but that was all fixed when I upgrade the drivers. If you buy this laptop, make sure to update all drivers or you will have issues with the graphic card being compatible with windows 10. It's an easy fix if this happens to you. I also recommend adjusting your monitor to your preferred justifications because it makes a huge difference with the visuals in game.As for the system, it is simply phenomenal. I have had no issues running high end modded games between 60-150fps with no lagging issues. I play Fallout 4 and Skyrim (both with ENB's and 100+ mods installed) and it runs the game with no issues. Fallout 4 crashed on me one time, but it was my own fault for not installing a mod properly. I got the Nvidia RTX 2070 8gb and it pushes most demanding games with no problems. The 144hz refresh monitor feels so smooth in game. I had a 27' 60hz monitor for my PC and I can tell a huge difference in performance. Visuals are stunning in all games, especially the games with modded visual overhauls. My only gripes about this machine is that it does get hot when you push AAA titles. I bought a cooling fan and it helps prevent the laptop from getting too hot. I run between 68 - 78 Celsius in most gaming titles. The power adapter does get warm, but you expect that with high end gaming laptops. The audio could be better, because the Bang and Olufsen speakers are good but not the best sound quality. I suggest using headphones or other speakers for better sound. The battery info that HP provides is not so true. I can only get between 1-2 hours of gaming before I need to recharge it.I see a lot of mixed reviews on this machine so I was skeptical. But I could not be happier with my purchase. I like to travel so I highly recommend this laptop to anyone who wants a portable machine for gaming that they can take anywhere. I also use Photoshop and other media programs and they also run smooth. So, if you are reading reviews and are worried that you are going to get a dud. Don't worry because you will not be disappointed with this purchase.P.S - If you buy this, I recommend you get a cooling fan to keep your machine cool. Especially in warm climates.

Great Gaming Laptop with 2 importand disadvantages.
You should only buy this computer for gaming. It does not make a good general use laptop. Why you ask. 2 major issues. This system and other brand laptops use GSync which works awesome for gaming and makes the display smooth. The problem is that a feature called Nvidia optimus technology that allows switching from the NVIDia graphics card to the onboard intel graphics card is defeated. The intel graphics card uses very little power and in most laptop it is switched to this card unless you are doing things like games or other 3d operations. Because the Nvidia graphics card is hardwired to the screen. You cannot even access the intel graphics card for things like transcoding videos using Quick Sync. If you want to do video editing or you want a laptop you can take off the power for 5 or 6 hours you might want to look elsewhere (not a gaming laptop) Also this computer runs a little hot playing games so you might think use a cooling pad but be aware that this computer is not thin and light, if the pad is put at an angle the computer will slide off the pad because it is tall and angled bottom.. all pads that amazon sells like the newest 17" laptop pad Klim Ultimate + RGB. will work in flat mode but not tilted back. Good laptop. No other criticisms. Wait till they go on sales during holidays.

Amazing Laptop for the Price
I got the Omen for gaming while traveling for my job and its been an awesome Portable desktop. The battery life is garbage, but thats not really what its for so thats okay. I DOES have some backlight bleed on the screen but honestly getting the specs on this for $700 less than anyone else has its worth the slight issue.

Video Card Issues
I must say, I REALLY wanted to like this machine. So much so that i actually bought it twice! My wife REALLY wanted a build with the RTX 2070 graphics card. This machine is absolutely - at least as i write this - the most affordable build with that card and the processor is excellent too. All the hardware on this thing is excellent on paper. The feel of the machine feels excellent and sturdy. Everything seemed great and she gleefully played her games on it for a few days. Then, seemingly out of no where the video card straight up disappeared from the device manager. It was like the computer forgot it had a RTX 2070. After buckets of research the best option was to use the system restore option - which worked but made my wife loose all her game progress. We were disappointed but it must have been a fluke. So she continued to play again and after a few day it happened again?!So i returned it - but it was such an affordably priced build it must have been a fluke. So i took a risk and bought it again thinking the first one must have been a lemon. Sure enough, after about a week - seemingly randomly - the RTX -2070 again completely disappeared from the device manager - as if the computer had no idea it was installed. Again - a system restore fixed it and again all game progress was lost. What good is a computer that is excellent on paper but is so temperamental. So i gave up - returned this computer too and instead bought the MSI GE75 Raider. It actually had a weaker card (RTX2060) but it fit my budget - it was actually more $$ than this HP. But it's been about a month now and the MSI is chugging along nicely and my wife is happy. Was it the video card - the build - i dunno but if the gaming laptop won't work right - i don't care how good the stats are - if it doesn't work right that's a fail in my book.
