Q: Will it take a low g string?

Hi Gregory, Yes, you can use a low G string on the Concert Enya Nova Uke.

Q: Any update on when the black version will be in stock in the uk. i've seen february end of march and june. could do with a definate date please

No idea........BUT Black will show every finger mark etc.

Yes GCEA is recommended tuning. But all these things are open to taste. Drop it a half tone F# B D# G#. The strings on the Enya are a bit flabby (ooh, technical talk) so maybe don't drop a halftone. Try going up a half, maybe that would work. I think what I'm saying is experiment. As long as each string is equally adjusted the chord shapes won't change. Maybe change the strings, avoid metal on the Enya Carbon though. Mine is set to recommended. It's a real beauty of a uke though, so nice to play. Have fun, eventually you'll make it sound just as you want it to. Hope I've been of some help.
