Experiencing the "Bible" as a collection of books is really cool.
Easy to read, yet a thoughtfully done. Translator's notes at the bottom of each page are great and I absolutely LOVE having individual books to read. The scriptures were originally separate scrolls, not one collection. We often think of the "Bible" as a book, but it's not. The Bible is a library; a collection of writings, poems, letters, and books. It's a really cool feeling to sit down with one book (or one collection of letters) instead of holding the dauntingly huge "Bible" that can at times be intimidating because of it's thickness. It also helps you to remember that while the Author of scriptures is one God, the authors of each book or letter were individuals who differ in writing style and personal experiences. Taking each book, one at a time, keeps you in the mindset that each one is a unique expression of the Word of God through a person, a vessel, that God used to convey a timely message.

Very pleased with this translation and the division of separate books.
I recently saw the passion translation and decided I wanted to own it for myself. I have purchased several of their books in multiple and singles. I like that the books are separated so that you can carry one book to study for instance. I bought my sister one of her favorite books of the Bible in this version and she was very happy to receive it. It has taken me some getting used to it but when I compare with other translations side by side, the Passion translation is very nice for me.

Would give this translation 10 stars if I could!
I haven't finished reading the entire collection yet, but so far this translation makes meditating on the Word of God quite easy. I find myself imagining biblical scenes which has generally been difficult for me to do in the past. I also seem to remember what I've read more than I ever have before. Which also means I feel confident discussing the Word of God now. The footnote references on the Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic meanings of words and cultural explanations from that era add to my understanding. Once I get started reading in the evening after I come home from work, I can't seem to stop and can't wait to get started reading again the next day. I am so captured by the beauty and love of the divine word of God. I highly recommend this translation and would give it ten stars if I could!

Passion filled, easy to read, notes of explanation. Are most helpful.
Bought this set for my nephew. He likes having the NT split up somewhat and easier to carry. Can’t wait for the OT to be complete! Love the ease which this translation reads. Great for new believers and those who struggle with reading the King James Version.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this translation!
Why? It is written through the lens of God's agape love and passion for His bride, the church!I've used Logos Bible Software to check the accuracy/fidelity of the translation and I am very pleased! In fact the author has many great footnotes on variations in the Greek or Aramaic text which are very helpful!I personally use this as devotional and also for teaching others the word of GodI particularly love the way Brian makes the Psalms come to life! Can't wait for the complete NT and I hope he translates the whole bible!

Relevant for Today
I LOVE this collection. I've especially fallen in love with the Psalms, they are beautiful. Brian Simmons includes footnotes on every page. Footnotes include info like if there's another translation, for example, Greek and Aramaic. Both translations are given. In the Psalms footnotes include info on what in Hebrew is descriptive language, like when we say "it's raining cats and dogs". The author translates using what that expression would mean in our language and it makes powerful reading. Unlike the Amplified Bible, the verses aren't any longer than in any other translation. I"m enjoying the Epistles in everyday language, too. This really increases the relevance of the Bible for today.

If its good enough for Brian Johnson, its good enough for me!!!
I was told about this item at the Heaven Come conference in LA. I decided if it helped Brian Johnson get through some hard times, then it would help me too. So I purchased me a set (I couldn't decide which of the set I wanted). I had heard a snippet from Lance Walnau about reading 5 Psalms and 1 Proverb a day to learn the heart and wisdom of God. I have been doing that mostly everyday, but this version of Psalms has stopped me in my tracks a few times. Its like, "Oh, that's what that is saying." I highly recommend this version of the Bible to those who are truly seeking a more loving, worshipful relationship with the Lord. He has a heart for all of us and wants us to be as passionate about Him as He is about us. The Passion Translation will certainly help in that endeavor. Song of Songs is OMG!!!

Like Hearing for the First Time
I've felt so revived in reading through this translation. It's almost like I now know how it would be to have the bible first translated into your own language; the words deeply resonate within, and reading more increases my thirst to read more. I'm so grateful to have this in my hands, thank you to Dr Simmons for carrying this torch. The only practical drawback that I've noted: I ordered the set, and when I was one chapter into the book of John, pages started falling out and the cover fell off of the binding. I may have to get it rebound, because I know I'll be reading it often.
