Great Stuff
Tangy flavor with nice peppery finish. Reasonable price for the high quality. Love the picture of the guy on the can but have no idea who he is supposed to be.

Good Olive Oil
I've been using other olive oils for years from Italy, then Greece. When I tasted Portuguese olive oil in a Portuguese restaurant I was hooked. I drink 1-2 tablespoons per day for seasoning and health purposes and use it on salads, soups, bread, pasta, etc. and pour it over cooked meats and other dishes. I don't normally cook with it as olive oil has a lower heating point which makes it less stable. This olive oil has a nice fruity and smooth flavor, with a peppery finish in the throat which is the sign of healthy polyphenols. I wasn't familiar with how to open the spout but found a YouTube video that showed how to do it.

The real deal
It has a bright and fruity flavor with a peppery finish, but not too strong. This is real olive oil, not tasteless, diluted and dead like what you find in stores.

Pleasant (but not strong) flavor, pouring nozzle comes off
I am not a big EVOO expert. The major taste note is floral, then oil, then a little acid (some say pepper). Seems like this would be a good cooking or finishing oil (for, say, salads). I gave it the refrigerator test (not a definitive test, I know), and it clouded up. That's a good sign.BUT: The pouring nozzle pulled all the way out of the can, and I couldn't get the red cap off (safely) with a knife. So I had to empty it into a beaker (which would've happened anyway in order to do the fridge test, then pout into a clean EVOO bottle salvaged from a previous brand). See photo.

Pricey but the best for traditional Portuguese cooking
I am a third-generation user. This is THE olive oil, likely used more often than any other in Portuguese restaurants apart from the higher end establishments in Lisbon. Some of those tend to regard this product as too rustic for their taste. It is not rustic for me and I have a discriminating palette. My grandparents cooked with this product 60 years ago. It was cheap then but very good. Now it's still very good.

Great taste
A family staple. My mom uses it for all of our food dishes that require an oil.
